Short memories? When it was under Virgin it was just as bad. you can huff and puff but some shows just didn't rate. Bobs full house there put it all over the place and it just never worked.

Don’t challenge just get a dividend from the sky subscription they shouldn’t need to chase ratings.

They don't have adverts and sponsorships for a laugh.

It's on freeview... Big clue.

Challenge was horrific in the later days of Virgin, not just the poor range of programming, but the heavy editing too- especially with Family Fortunes and Wheel of Fortune, chopping out most of the titles and the casual chats with the contestants. Sadly some of these bad Virgin edits still turn up, I think some of the Family Fortunes ones have recently.

I’m referring to Challenge in the 90s not the Virgin owned which at least was broadcast at 720x576, Sky now show these classic shows at 544x576 worser then when it went out originally in analogue!

They might as well get rid of the channel it just shows the same old rubbish over and over again.

Not at all. I have every faith that Challenge, will once again, very soon, become the great channel it used to be.

I remember when Challenge used to have some of the most unique continuity going, with phone in competitions during each junction.

That's a format just begging to come back, hosted by Greg Scott, right?

A lot of the later episodes of Bullseye, even under Sky ownership, still have these bad Virgin edits.

Obviously they consider it easier than aquiring new copies.

Though Sky still use the old 14:9 copies of countless shows made and aquired under Virgin across their channels, so they seem very reluctant to make new copies of anything, even shows they own the rights to.

Don't talk nonsense.

I’m not talking nonsense challenge used to be so much better then what’s on at present.

More variety of shows since long gone since it changed ownership too many times.

Doesn't mean "close it down" is a reasonable argument.
