I think I said this before but Sky already have the rights to their back catalogue for repeat purposes so it didn't cost Challenge any more to air Are You Smarter even though it hadn't been on Sky 1 for years since it was first shown.

Challenge did use to air Brainiac as well of all things, which was... different.

I know, a few sky one shows have turned up including Are you smarter that 10 year old?

I feel viewers are wanting to see old shows off the main terrestrial channels rather than Sky shows or recent programmes.

The ratings suggest otherwise really though would agree most Sky shows just don't cut through. I would say though A League of Their Own is in, well, A League of Their Own.
I preferred the internet when it had a sense of humour.

Almost a month after this was posted on Challenge's social media, still no news on whether we are going to see Gamesmaster, Treasure Hunt and Knightmare again...

Gamesmaster hasn't been seen on Challenge since 2004, I'd have thought if it was successful enough it would have lasted more than it did on there though in fairness it is fairly niche and talks about games on obsolete hardware (save for the emulators of course) and I suppose it's amazing it ran for seven years on Channel 4.

Treasure Hunt, unless they get their mitts on the third series or later, probably won't happen any time soon, and Knightmare they made a big deal out of getting two more series and I presume they were scheduled but I never spotted them?

All that being said, it's only been a month since they wrote that, give them some time!

Takes a while for them to sign off on those new series of Pointless and The Chase.

Wouldn't be surprised if its a rolling deal to obtain a series a certain length of time after its first airing on the main network (or they get first dibs).

Think we said it before though, archive stuff just doesn't rate well anymore after the initial first couple of airings it sheds viewers, like of like everybody seems to develop an aversion to 4:3 material and/or black bars.

Challenge as a whole prides itself on being an archive of popular game shows. But there are so many of them that it's important they strike a balance between "showing new content that may be popular" and "rehashing the same old content over and over again". While I'm sure many of us would love to just watch Price is Right, Play your Cards Right, Knightmare, Millionaire and Bullseye for weeks on end, I'm sure many would like to see a refresh of content every so often to keep the channel fresh for others.

I would really like to see some game shows on Challenge though. Things like Winning Lines and Test the Nation were pretty good shows, but I can appreciate that for Winning Lines they would have to show a very heavily edited version which doesn't include the Lottery draws, and Test the Nation probably is lost to history.
