Challenge+1 has the correct DOG but the +1 is still on the other side amid the screen bizarrely. I take it from Total Wipeout next at 6pm it will stay fully coloured and stretched vertically?

The +1 DOG on Challenge hasn't changed for ages, it's always been top right like that. It did use to be part of the main DOG in the Virgin days but got separated at some point down the line.

In fact whenever they stick a "programme X tonight at xPM" top right the +1 DOG becomes effectively invisible.

I did notice the other day though it seems to come off when Sky Movie trailers are aired. It never used to do that.

The DOG seems to have been toned down but is still coloured with the channel name.

DOGWATCH UK UPDATE: Robot Wars has started and the full colour DOG is still there but it's now a lot more translucent. More at 11.

You disappear early for the highland show and you dont expect to see this while watching the horse jumping. This really has come out of the blue.

It was Feb 1st 2011, the day Sky took over playout and uplink of Living (+Living It and Living Loves) and Challenge over from Red Bee. The DOG actually changed completely although the idents were the same. The trail endboards were completely different from the ones Virgin had used, although when Sky reinstated it there hadn't actually been any trails or new content on Challenge for about 18 months. It seemed Virgin didn't intend to keep the channel.

A Crystal Maze ident would be nice. They seem to have removed all trace of it off their website now though, guess they didn't renew the rights.

They haven't shown Crystal Maze for months. In fact it disappeared from Challenge around the time the new live action attraction was launched or announced or at some point inbetween.

Challenge said at the time they were "trying" to get it back which has obviously fallen through. Shame really, it's only been on the channel since 1998.

Not sure what the next longest Challenge run series is - possibly Bullseye, as its been on the channel since around 2004. Other stuff has come, gone and come back again though.

Catchphrase must be up there, surely. Or Family Fortunes.

I think they've taken a break with some shows. Catchphrase (TVS episodes) were shown to about 1999/2000, then Catchphrase (Carlton episodes)returned in 2004 and they've been running since. I think Family Fortunes hasn't stopped at any point. Bullseye, like Catchphrase has been on since 2004 without a break. Worth noting Bullseye was on UK Gold and Granada Plus prior to Challenge.

Blockbusters is another show that has been on and off Challenge since 1997.

Not only has Family Fortunes been everpresent, they're now showing the US version too.

The logos and presentation are far more professional and reflects their image better. I wonder if they'll spend a few more pounds on "new" acquisitions rather than repeating Millionaire for the millionth time - I know the question before the answer comes up lol.
It's astonishing that ITV holds on to a considerable amount in their archive but won't show it on ITV3 or offload to Challenge and keeps repeating Morse; Murder, She Wrote and Frost so many times that the killers have probably served their sentence.
Must be some idiots still loose in the Network Centre/ITV Ivory Tower...
