That recent promo for Total Wipeout, Ninja Warrior and The Cube, I'm certain some of those Ninja Warrior and Total Wipeout clips are ripped directly off Youtube rather than the master tapes hence the blurred Japanese countdown timer on one part of the Ninja Warrior clip.

I have read on a similar forum that Sky have apparently confirmed that Sky Arts will join Pick, Challenge & Sky News on FreeView. Meaning that none of Sky's existing channels on Freeview are closing. And that Pick HD is, or already has, closed down on Satellite. I hope this means that Challenge+1 will be reinstated in its rightful place, although unlikely.

Overall, this is great news for game-show addicts!

I assume you're talking about this:

No, as that isn't a forum.

OK Very Happy , however, it would be reassuring to see this formally announced on an official website, such as the ones you suggest J. Lyric, rather than hearsay from a similar forum where I gleaned this info Thumbs up .

Is that forum Digital Spy? In any case, I bet it was just speculation, not confirmation. But transponder space doesn't come out of thin air, something has to go for something else to launch.

I noticed today that the 11am airing of Blockbusters (their incarnation, the Simon Mayo version) was preceded by the "Sky Original" sting. But they don't seem consistent in using this for some reason from what I've seen.

Today's 11am episode featured the holy grail of the game - the fifth gold run. Always thought these were quite magical when younger, especially if they won it. In hindsight the Mayo version was one of the better versions of this game (compared to Sky's previous stab at it anyway) and its a shame really they only made 40 episodes.

Maybe being awkward here, I know Gladiators hasn't been repeated in a while was there ever a "sting" used for the Sky version when it aired? (or will we see it being applied if its repeated again)?

I don't believe Gladiators used a sting initially, the Sky Original stings are relatively recent additions to presentation (there did use to be a black version and the more recent white version). That series of Gladiators was made in 2008 and only lasted a year.

They never used to put "I'm original look at me!" type stings on their new programming, that seemed to start at some point where Sky "revised" the prices for their packages and they suddenly felt the need to have to justify why we're charging you an extra whatever it was a month. Previously it was just to say "enable us to enhance your viewing" or some other bland corporate justification. Now most letters say we're increasing our prices by £2 a month or whatever but we're going to spend most of it making lots of shiny new "unmissable" content for you, oh and we've done this, that and the other as well in the meantime.

Challenge have randomly switched from Les Dennis to Max Bygraves for the 2pm Family Fortunes slot...having never actually seen them before (apart from a short clip of the 'hilarious' turkey incident) he was a bit...rubbish wasn't he!

Biiiiig money!

I watched the Max Bygraves repeats on Challenge a few years ago. Was amusing how often they had to repeat the prize sound when a contestant won because he missed it Rolling Eyes Laughing
