I like TV pres, and in may spare time I do have to record stuff or find stuff to be used in TV Live, but Its becoming rather annoying/ mind numbing, with certain TV companies = In how often there used certain idents and piece of pres. I have even pushed record and let the usb drive record a whole day and still the same old idents can keep on appear. ( a whole day wasted in 5mins)

It got me thinking, with Paper cut from BBC2 and how people said oh it wasn't well used but not one person can say it didn' t get used in 92. This has been on going for years. I have asked about Ident X or Y and someone else who has been much more lucky in spotting x can point it outs no its from the original package

You would think nowadays its just higher end freeview channels but no ITV2 is bad for this aswell.

Why are certain ident only ever used one in a while? Don't the companies want Variety? Or is it just laziness?

Short answer, it depends who is the media scheduler. There's a lot of things to schedule within a playlist such as: continuity, adverts, promos, warning slides, filler content. On top of that, there's minute-age, break patterns and promo priorities they have to meet. Idents to pick are usually the last thing on their minds, unless you've got a keen eye for stuff like that.

No. TV channels have to spend the money on actual tv programmes rather than over 300 idents, to stop presentation fans moaning about lack of variety.

They also don't expect people to watch all the junctions, all the time.

Anyway, back in my day we had a blue and golden spinning globe on a black background as an ident.

Slowly spinning around, same countries, continents wandering past on every junction at the same speed for years and years..
..and you moan about 'lack of variety'

Its 2017 NOT 1978, the world has moved on, I think you failed to understand what I was asking, I never said 300 odd. IF that is the case you should tell everyone one BBC one thread off.

If you have 5 idents and are only using 3 over a whole day on 30min period, your going to notice this if you watching a binge run of your shows.

Also of course there expect people to watch all the junctions, if that is the case why have different promo and press at each different junctions, why not have the same one.

Look at ITV: there want people to watch 7 hours of their own channel : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2STSzAxh_s&ab_channel=juttsaab

Actually, they know viewers don't tend to stick around a channel for a long duration. Hence why on some channels the Media Planning promo strategy is repetition. Promos are given different priorities, which is why you'll get tired of seeing one for a certain programme(s), but not so frequently for others. (Depends on the broadcaster)
