Pray it doesn't rain over the weekend, it'll make a hell of a noise.

I have to say that, despite the total randomness of broadcasting a news programme from a conservatory, it actually looks pretty good! It kind of reminds me of the time during (I think) the early 90s, when Midlands Today used the glass-walled studio (formerly used by Pebble Mill, Daytime Live etc) - I think it was while they were revamping the main studio then, too.

i suppose there is a likeness in the hair dept - but i think mikes has more structure to it - stephen's looks a bit tired.

For those who don't read or didn't this in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire thread, posted by top insider at Look North Leeds:

"In answer to a previous post, No Look North is not relaunching anytime soon I`m afraid, keep your eye on the Midlands though I`m told the new Midlands Today will be VERY exciting."

Now, I like the sound of it when someone other than me, tvm or the production team at Pebble Mill call it VERY exciting. Very cryptic, but the fact they've moved out of their studio for 5 days does say something...a timescale you'd expect a national programme needed to rebrand, not a regional one. And Nick did say that it will be "glam and glitzy" when it's unveiled on Monday.

Oh I totally agree tvm.

News is constantly changing, you know, news never stays the same and therefore Midlands Today will always keep moving.

midlands today is really very much part of the new century, if you like. THIS is how news is going to be presented.

For the presenters as well as the viewers, I mean, it's really exciting.
