Harshy, what is your TV region?

Please edit your profile to show this info on your posts! Wink

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me!

I'll change the profile right now!

BTW FYI I live in the Yorkshire region, but get Tyne Tees!Smile

Is this going to be the theme they use on Central West or will it be a more upbeat version as heard in the trail?

Central East Theme Full

Enjoy.

I can't honestly be sure!

The basic theme is the same, and its recorded slightly differently so its not an exact clone of the theme.

As for the dance beat style theme that was heard in the trailer, that could just be for promotion or could actually be the new theme.

Whichever it is, I love the theme and I can't wait until Monday! Or have I said that already? Wink

LOL!

Its about time we had a decent programme like this in the Midlands, now I really will look forward to watching Central News instead of thinking 'What a bad programme.' Very Happy

Thanks harshy!

Odd that you recieve the 'wrong' region. I live just about within an overlap area. Therefore if I use a portable aerial, I can get good quality reception of CNEast/EMidsTdy

I thought that the Central News programmes were consistant, but with slightly differing graphics, but from this thread it sounds like Central News West was a totally different product to Central News East!

I dare say its probably just preference.

Where he lives there is probably very little to seperate Yorkshire and Tyne Tees for coverage.

Just like where we live, there is very little to seperate the Central News East and West programmes, they both cover my area. Smile

Yes, it is weird, I use a portable aerial and still pick up Tyne Tees, but not Yorkshire properly!

Central News West, East and South have always been different.

The only time when they were the same when it was just East and West in 1982, but since then the programmes have gone their own ways. Of course now, Central News East and West will have similar titles, music and studios so its almost like going back to old times.

I saw that trailer live earlier tonight and am I correct in thinking that one of the female presenters says something along the lines of 'its great for the development/in the history of Central '????!!

I don't think so. Although they happen to not mention 'Carlton', whenever they say 'Central', it is always followed by 'news' so as to disassociate the news title and the station name.

BTW, on CNEast doesn't the voiceover at the start of the 1800 bulletin mention the station name? (i.e. something like 'From Carlton, this is Central News at Six') And does that mean we'll now be getting that sort of thing on CNWest?
