Do I detect a birmingham skyline in the blue backdrop? Reminds me of the CSO daytime bulletins of the current look.
I like the fact that although the the title is still written in 2-dimensional white capital gil sans letter, it animates in a much more interesting way than before. Plus the fact that until the words settle, they're 3D and metallic looking.
I also like the way that where the region is within the UK is shown. This idea seems a bit like a BBC generic regions rip-off, but they've actually made a better job of it than Auntie Beeb - I say that because more of the rest of the UK can be seen than in the generic BBC regional title sequences, therefore it gives a much better impression of where the region is.
EDIT: Does that 'spider's web' in the backdrop design eminate from Birmingham as it's centre point? And does the one on CNEast eminate from Nottingham? Does CNSouth not have this style of backdrop?
