Re-mixed theme tune, new set which is smaller and doesn't look very good at all, the titles are basically the same except for splashes of red and an edited ending with the logo. Not very good.
Now, as you know - I'm not one to praise Central East...but it's not too bad. Certainly better than the old look. The beefed up theme tune sounds a lot better and less like a corporate video track now. Sadly, it's let down by the small studio - I'm sure the space could have been better utilised but I do like the design.
Here are some (many) pics off the ITV regional service:
It seems strange to me (as somebody who's never seen Central News before) to see Gills Sans used as the main font anywhere other than on the BBC - the two seem so inextricably linked! And they've used a similar concentric circles theme, too!
Well I prefer the font compared to the current look of Central News West! The previous font (as still used by Central News East) was class compared to what we get now!
It used to be so much better! Is it the same studio? One wonders if Central News would have moved to a bigger space now they've got it. It was harder to do so previously as Crossroads and ITV Digital services were hogging it all, but both of those no longer exist now.
One wonders? Crossroads? Are you known in another place by a different Ophelia-sounding name?
Is it coincidental at all, that your username just HAPPENS to be an anagram of JAMES MARTIN?
Odder still, that you were banned from the Lounge today, and this Jasmine Tram person registers today.....
It looks way too crowded for me, but then I'm agoraphobic and hate crowds anyway. But do they really have space or need two presenters?
Cant they have one reading the news then the sports one come in later when he's needed? I mean why dont we throw in a few more cameramen, a weather gal, and a handful of interviewee's - they could have a right mad party! They have good lighting... well that is til it goes almost pitch black at the end but they could soon fit some strobe lighting!
Nah, it's doing nothing for me. Wouldn't mind one of those flat-screens in me room though.
I recently received a letter from Central News accepting me to do work experience with them. It will be interesting to see how big the studio is, as some people call it small, and some people call it big.

Have to agree, it's not brilliant but is an improvement. What strikes me is that Central seem reluctant to wipe the slate clean and have a total new look. With every new look Central east has had recently, something is always left over from the previous look,
