Just switched over to Central News to see a new look. The Title music has been remixed, Titles have now got a touch of red Confused The Set has changed, Astons and all on screen graphics Re-made, the whole lot. I like the new 'curvy' approach to the graphics, but the set and titles are a step down from the old, in my opinion. Is it me or, does blue and red NOT go together.

What do you guys think about it ?

Blue and red are one of the best colours to use together in certain designs because they are more likely to catch the eye than any other colour.

But it all depends on the design and I haven't seen it yet. Any captures?

I'm presuming this is the Nottingham programme?

Haven't seen it yet but I'll grab some captures in News at Ten, and tomorrow.

It used to be so much better! Is it the same studio? One wonders if Central News would have moved to a bigger space now they've got it. It was harder to do so previously as Crossroads and ITV Digital services were hogging it all, but both of those no longer exist now.

Hey-ho!

Well, Sky News seem to think it goes together. Perhaps it's just their design but I think it looks terrible.

Wait for the shots before I make up my mind . . .

Hmm.. .red and blue, sounds to me like Carlton are trying to give the local news a corporate look, thats more "local feel" we're probably loosing then!

Westcountry have had the blue and red titles for a while, now Central, London might be next...

Also the GMTV newshour has the blue and red look, as does the ITV News studio... so maybe Carlton are trying to take over the whole network and give it the same look? Please! No!

So if they are introducing red & blue everywhere, why did they get rid of the lovely blue with red look in Central West and replace it with the yellow 'N' circle design?

Not for the National bulletins any more, though, since they took on the ITV1 yellow and blue colours. Now only the news channel uses red and blue.
