Didn't want to start a new topic for this, so here goes. (I used up my new topic allowance with a silly thread about World Business Report...)

Are all Central News broadcasts still in 4:3, like Central News East? Does anyone know when widescreen is likely to be introduced? Finally, I take it Carlton Nottingham has some sort of widescreen facility - is it just the news studio that doesn't?

And have you seen the short ITN (refuse to call them ITV News Wink) bulletins during This Morning and mid-afternoon? Even though there are no credits they still have the rotten credit backround to the right of the screen during the endcap. This is a real botch job. Anyone got a capture?

Better to do what Channel 4 do and have the ITN name to the left and instead of '4' have the ITV logo to the right, kind of like they used to with the generic 1989 logo.

I hate the ITV generic credits. All programmes have their own proper credits, so why can't we see them instead of being forced into the genericised crap? At least BBC1 and Channel 4 have made the best out a bad thing and have left-aligned the credits so the (awful) credit promotiona can be shown while the programmes are allowed to use their own credits, and can be exported to other channels and countries like that.

. Is that right? There's also no copyright notice. Basically, I don't know... Wink

There was a copyright notight but that was on another slide with a video of John Gregery performing with a Guitar.

The problem with the credits is they usually pick the wrong colour...

It should be RED for ITV News, not blue
BLUE for Central News, not red
and bring back the YELLOW for Corrie.

Also, why can't they just have the credits slide away off screen to reveal the end cap, like C4 used to do with theirs.

Well as you know, Crossroads has been in widescreen ever since it came back last March. So yes, Carlton Notts do 16:9, or are they cheating and just cropping the pictures?

And yes CN is all totally 4:3. Only HTV isn't, I believe.

Night and Day is also already getting a primetime aring but that's because Granada run the Network Centre, don't they?
