Interesting - as you've said I suppose it makes sense, what with the recent runaway success of he X Factor. However, a slightly late decision, considering that the judges, presenters, venue etc have to be planned and confirmed...

The Pop Idol story may have been just rumours though, you never know with these tabloid headlines. The Celebrity X Factor may already been in advanced stages of production!

Fair comment. However the DS article does say that "the celebrity version of The X Factor will air instead of the previously proposed reworking of the Pop Idol format".

Am I the only one who saw this and thought ' oh here we go again'? Honestly - it's just so lazy and unimaginative.

No i thought that as well - I like X Factor but cant they come up with new ideas instead of the same type of series all the time?

I agree. I like the X Factor and the getting to know all the contestants (and the auditions). Theres too much "celebrity" programmes now, especially on ITV.

Couldn't agree more, they even push it with the normal version of The X Factor, but now a celebrity version. I'm getting a bit sick of Celebrity this or Celebrity that on ITV, I know I can say with pride I will be gladly avoiding ITV1 and 2, same goes for Channel 4 and E4, I'm getting sick of the same old celebrity reality shíte given to us over the summer.

Give the format a rest for now, I'm getting tired of Celebrity singing or ice skating competitions on ITV1.

[end Rant]

True, but not as much as ITV. Channel 4 aren't too bad - mainly Celeb Big Brother.
