Peter Kay hasn't really done any presenting though has he?

IIRC ... he did a brief stint as a guest presenter on The Big Breakfast when he was still relatively unknown.

He did some little show for ITV called The Royal Variety Performance but that's about it. Joking aside, I don't think he's ever done a proper television show presenting job. It's a different calibre to the Royal Variety.

Yes The Royal Variety gig is as a compare, not a presenter

On that note, how about John Bishop?

Yes for a week. He also hosted The Brits 2010 and has presented various one off programmes over the years.

Anyway, Bob Monkhouse's 'presenting' style was basically stand up, with scripted gags and monologues.

One person stands out for me for this, if available, Paul Merton, has the necessary sardonic wit to deal with over inflated egos, yet retaining a straight face with the Contestants.

I'd doubt he'd do it.

I fear a Pasquale, but wouldn't be surprised to see it end up being Bradley Walsh other commitments permitting.

I rate Walsh as a presenter and actor.

Ok, that's the presenter sorted out. Now, who should we have for the centre square?

Probably Joey Essex, various people who were in the most recent series of I'm a Celeb, Fiz and Sean from Corrie, Bob from Emmerdale and maybe Alistair Stewart as the intelligent one.
