Well as I said on the DS forums, but was squashed for it, I think the level of detail in the new house warrents the possibility of this year's series being recorded in HD. Celebrity BB will probably be used as a test run for the summer.
Even though all the major broadcasters have denied wanting Big Brother, I genuinely think they have interest from at least one of them. Why else would they otherwise be putting in so much effort? HD isn't out of the realms of possibility ...
I think Endemol's best bet is a reprieve from C4 - and with top personnel at the channel changing, and awful ratings in recent months, it could happen - though if C4 did change their minds I think it's better to commit to bringing the show back in a couple of years - not only does it need a break, but the producers need time to get it right. Also hopefully they'd cut Davina and Marcus loose too and completely relaunch it with new hosts when it returned.
The house is gorgeous - first time since BB2 they've basically just redecorated, but it looks so different, and so much better, than the BB10 house. I think the studios are getting a make over too - they were definitely right to put Davina back inside for the announcements (it's the reaction of the HMs, not the crowd which is important), but they need to connect the studio to the crowd once again as they did in BB3 and BB4.
I'm glad they're drastically changing the house this year though it's a shame they're keeping the diary room in the same place as the stairs as I thought that was what was most needed to be changed in the latest series. What's the point in having two staircases if only one gets used.
Nonetheless it should hopefully be a good series if they're drastically changing things.
I think Davina and Marcus make Big Brother what it is. Like BBLB hasn't been the same since Dermot left, BB wouldn't be the same without Davina... I think more people love her than hate her, hence the new work she's getting and her having the best selling workout DVD in the country.
As for Marcus, he's the soundtrack of the entire product. Without him doing his "Daaaay Eeeeeghty Fouuuur" act, I honestly don't think it'd be as successful. It's like a rights of passage for housemates to immitate both the lines "please don't swear" and "Daaaaaay Twooo in tha Big Bruuther House".

If they were to get rid of Davina, I think it should have been done during the BB5 revamp or after the BB6 controversy. If BB somehow manages to get extended or returns on Channel 4, I think Davina and Marcus
must
be there otherwise it just wouldn't be right. But if Big Brother moves to another channel, then thats when they should get rid. I think it has been left far too late for changes like that.

That's the problem. At their peak they both really added value to the show, but Marcus especially ruins it for many now. With Davina it's not so much about her capabilities as host (I've no issue with her), it's about the image of the show - and in the last few years the show has failed to move on in the way it's needed too, and bringing in a new host would help with that.
That's why if C4 do have a change of heart I think it should go away for a year or two and then come back as a newly relaunched version of a former favourite, rather than a continuation of what was there before. That way I could see the show hanging around another 3-5 years at least, but if it's just continues on from BB11 all they'd end up doing is delaying the axe for a year or two.
One would guess that this will be similar style for BB11 as I can't see them changing the look again, because so far I'm liking what I see, shame they didn't put much effort into promoting or producing BB10 last summer. I'm sure I've seen more CBB ads for this time then for BB11.
Yeah but that'll be because for once they've put money and effort into the campaign... one which I'm really liking. And while I always thought they'd spoil it by changing the logo from the Eatock design, I've been pleasently surprised.
I'm hoping they stick with the new version of the music for at least CBB anyway, as I can't imagine the electronic version of the theme going all that well with a flaming eye. They should have made variations on the theme long before now...
The graphics used on the Top 20 show looked great too (usually these preview shows are a nasty cheap version of the previous years). My only fear is so often in the past the C4 promo graphics have looked brilliant, but then the logo and graphics used for the show itself been comparably flat.
I'd be surprised if they changed the theme tune - but heck, that's another thing they might have left too late. Though great on the promos, I'm not sure this version would be brilliant on the titles themselves, and actually on the Top 20 programme though the stings were only short, they did use the more familiar versions of the theme and actually worked rather well IMO.

Yeah I saw those. I guess they worked cause of the addition of flame sounds in the background... almost like a flaming swish to bring in the numbers. I guess if they did that with the eye it would work.
