Good selection of housemates. I've actually heard of everyone of them ( yes even Lady Sov)
:-(
Loving the new house, the new look, a bunch of celebs which are high profile. It would seem that the producers thought they would not get all the celebs in the car, well that's the impression i got.

Oh dear, the I'm A Celeb line up looked positively stellar compared to this shambles.
And that task, squeezing them into a mini was BB's idea of hell ?
No point returning to this.

What a truly terrible line up of contestants. An awful disappointment. I'm 34 and thought I was reasonably well "up" with popular culture, but I've only heard of 2 of them (in all previous series I've heard of at least 7 of them). Can someone explain to me the producers' obsession with Americans? It's grown, year on year, from the point where we had only one American in the house (Caprice) to the ludicrous stage where the majority are Americans.
And to make matters worse, the recurring theme throughout the intro films was that the British "celebs" are only worthy of a place on the show because they "made it" in America (Beacham / Jones / Lady Sovereign).
The bitterest irony is that the house itself, the graphics, and the overall production values were stunning - the best ever.
The Mini task was a nice idea but backfired as they obviously didn't think all 10 would pass the task, and planned to call the losers to the diary room for some kind of punishment or secret mission as part of the live launch. Oops!

I'd imagine those they thought would not fit in the mini were not to get their suitcase for a week or something like that.

You're obviously not as 'well up' as you thought if you've only heard of two of them. I think the race row still hangs over the show (even three years on) which is why they have a difficulty signing up British celebs. Pre-race row the majority of contestants were British, in fact I think in the first 2 series' we didn't have one American!

Essentially they've got:
4 people who's claim to fame is that they've slept with someone
3 very obscure musicians
2 fairly average british actors
1 page three girl
and someon who's only mainly famous because of his more famous (and talented) family
Is that really the best they can do?

The line up isn't great, but the characters seem to be there. It's the females letting them down - I think the male line up is actually one of the strongest - they might not be mega famous, but they're all known for what they do (or did).
That aside a great launch show - such a difference when they actually put some effort in, and all the changes made were changes for the better.
