Because John was rude - and has more than done his share in providing entertainment for Big Brother. While leaving the bores in doesn't make an outrageous show, their characters are allowed to develop and relationships re-estabhlish once the "characters" are out - and the show suffers hugely when dominated by one character. So far the house has been defined by the relationships John and Jackie had with other housemates. This week it'll become clearer how the others really feel about each other.
The interaction of the housemates has been brilliant this series - but the show is being spoiled by pointless twists to the voting. The concept of voting to "save" a nominee is completly against the grain of Big Brother, taking away it's unique selling point - and without further "in-house" twists to the voting, completly pointless. (It would make sense if for example, a Head of House nominated three people, the viewers saved one then the other housemates voted on who is evicted!)
And now we're voting for the winner - with a "special" eviction on Wednesday - at the point where the nominations were about to get interesting with the biggest hate figures gone!
They've had some great twists like the task with Caprice and arrival of Jackie (though that majorly backfired!) - but the voting twists are quite frankly a mistake!
And this comes from a Big Brother fan who is desperate to see some major twists to the shows format - but these should be introduced as a permanent change to the rules which changes the game, not just an attention grabbing gimmick!

Why do people want to vote out charactors? What entertainment is left in the House now? Daft audiences get what they deserve.. blandness!

On the face of it that makes sense, but actually these characters tend get tiresome for the housemates and viewers. The removal of John and that stupid woman should allow some of the quieter ones to step into the light.
I actually suffered from 'switch off' syndrome tonight once Bez threatened to kick peoples heads in. It was all too much for me after a big weekend.

Oh big mistake there. It did the TalkTalk sponsorship, then faded out into a VT clock. That faded off into blackness for about 20 seconds then went to Davina mid-sentence.
