I'm glad that the so-called 'favourite' didn't win, but I'm not pleased it was Bez. Why should a druggie win? Anyone with half a decent bone in their body would have donated AT LEAST half of the prize to charity - instead Bez is going to 'Pimp his ride', and no doubt spend the rest on weed, or whatever filth he uses. Rolling Eyes

Any chance you judgemental types could contain your opinions for a change?

On the basis that you have had something of a public detox yourself Jay, you're hardly in a position to criticise what people choose to consume.

What??

He admitted in the house he was missing his drugs. He couldn't wait to get out.

The fact that he's a 'celebrity' means that he should be making an appearance for charity - what with recent events in the world you would have thought his first choice for the money would lie with the DEC. Then again, the fact that he's not actually a celebrity (Why exactly is he famous again?), means he can waste it all on his habit and his car.

And of course these are my opinions, do I have to put a disclaimer on every post? Rolling Eyes

To answer your question "why exactly is he famous again?" he was in early 90's "Madchester" group "The Happy Monday's" in which he shook his marrackas & danced at the side of the stage. He later went on to star in BBC 2 sunday lunchtime show "The Sunday Show" where there was a slot calle "Bez Sez"

Shaun Ryder was the lead singer of the Happy Mondays & correct me if I'm wrong but I think he went through a drugs problems at one stage Confused I may be wrong however

Thanks for that! I genuinely didn't know!

I think Bez just wound me up a little in the house with his whole 'I can't be arsed to do this task' attitude. Still don't like him very much though.

On a seperate note, I read somewhere in one of yesterday's papers that for BB6 they're no longer going to be accused of chasing the ratings, by trying to get people to have sex. Instead they promised lots of practical jokes - "BB6 is going to be hilarious".

I hope Big Brother keeps it's new found personality for BB6, as it has made BB5 and CBB3 that little bit better.

I'm inclined to agree. Whatsmore for all the producers' arrogance, they certainly know how to set up a set piece to get maximum entertainment value from them.

So because I am appearing on a programme that focuses on weight issues (and for your information, Gillian didn't think I needed to lose much weight - and the programme is about healthy living, not weight loss) I am not entitled to an opinion?

I don't care about Bez or Kenzie or anyone else for that matter - I care about the fact that Bez (from what I could decipher), planned on spending some of the money on drugs. Maybe he has personal trouble - I don't know, but all I am saying is was he really a worthy winner?

Oh, and I know this won't matter to you but most of the people at college and at work have said the same thing. Why are you so defensive anyway? I only made a comment!

Okay, firstly I genuinley admire what you managed to acheive in your programme, and I am looking forward to watching it.

Your point in this thread followed someone who had an issue with a, "gay man, a transvestite now a druggie" being voted the winner - followed by a set of rolling eyes.

I find the idea that sexual or gender orientation should somehow prevent a person from being a winner to be bigoted offensive rubbish. I'm not going to let comments like that pass, for balance if nothing else.

You rather got caught in my firing line Jay, but the point remains that Bez's "worthiness" isn't defined (or shouldn't be, at least) on the fact that he has had or continues to have a chemical habit. I don't think he should be defined in those terms any more than someone slightly overweight should be defined on the food they eat.

I apologise if my example was clumsy; I certainly didn't mean to hurt your feelings.

I think Bez won because of the man he is, and I'm glad for him.

Actually, I think you're right.

I think Bez just rubbed me up the wrong way due to his attitude and me automatically thinking 'druggie - eugh' because of it.

I don't mind Bez winning so long as he puts that money to good use. He used the excuse that he had stuff to pay off and his kids needed it. Maybe they do, but I can't help thinking him and Shaun Ryder will use it their own way! Mad

Talking of the Happy Mondays - is Shawn Ryder still banned from appearing live on C4?
