There seems to be a lot of speculation that the show will be axed after the current series. With bookies slashing odds etc. If this were true BB Auditions would still go ahead and everything go as per schedule until the makers of the show are told otherwise.
This is really being blown out of proportion. Half of the busy bodies in studios reporting this don't even watch it. No doubt the press are the same with only the tabloid journalists giving it a glance to pick a few key lines.
When I watched the events in question taking place I saw a rather heated argument and things were said before/during/after that really you would come to expect from an argument regardless of what colour you were. In this case Shipla is Indian so any sign of being picked on and everyone jumped on the racism bandwagon.
What was said about cooking curries, sauces, eating with hands and being sick is not racism, it blatantly shows those who spoke of it are uninformed of the culture and way of living in that country. Jeez the Yanks are a bunch of Burger Munching Heffers right? Now the British, well they are a bunch of tea sipping pansies. Don't the Germans just make crappy porn films all day?
What has happened is nothing new, this IS a fairly accurate display of what the British public are like. A mixed community, there are a majority who have racial views and radical thinking. Nothing extreme has taken place.
Clearly
the worlds media has nothing better to do. What happened to the deadly Birdflu that was going to kill us all by now? Why isn't global warming being pushed seen as the world is going to end next Saturday blah blah blah. Perhaps it should be the directors of the news organisations that need to have a meeting to discuss their channels futures.
I'm confident it won't be axed - Endemol and C4 have a very good relationship and have only just renewed the contract for the series to run until 2010.
Also, I'm pretty sure the Deal or No Deal contract is up for renewal soon, so C4 won't want to punch the mouth they feed!
Agree - all blown out of proportion! As I said, I think the wider media have alot more questions to answer than C4/Endemol.
I also want to know the justification of OFCOM releasing hourly updates on the number of complaints - what purpose did that serve? Also, have they taken measures to ensure complaints are genuine and not just as a result of internet campaigns. Is it infact too easy to complain?
I'd just like to say last night's show was probably the best so far. I couldn't help but laugh at Jermaine's face in the "coming up" slide when he was trying to make BB laugh.
There are a few good people in the house like Shilpa and Cleo but i'm cheering for Ian and Jermaine.

Of course people on this forum would never make opinions on stuff they don't watch!
