Apparently this is what Danielle said to Shilpa.

Bit OTT, from a racial point of view, IMO ! Shocked

Not so much here, but certainly on other forums I think the real racism is referring to virtually every disagreement involving Shilpa being racially motivated!

Yes, during the show itself and within the break of the proceeding programme, prior to the actual result.

Brekkie Boys assertion that C4 & Big Brother are somehow the moral bastion of reality TV is laughable.

The Big Brother voting numbers are advertised continually throughout the week in almost every C4 advert break, then during BBLB, during Big Mouth, during the Live streaming and during every highlights show.

And add to this Big Brother is probably the only reality show to continually take viewers money under false pretences for housemates that end up walking out, and by putting contestants back who have previously been voted out.

Lines were frozen immediately when people left - and I'm not going back over that argument again. Credit to Soapstar Superstar though for having people "saved" before the lines open, rather than after.

Due to the voting procedure of course over the week Big Brother's lines are advertised more - but I stand by what I say. You only ever get the factual information from there - not the host on their knees begging you to call in and telling you that someone's life will be in tatters if you don't!

Isn't that mostly down to the fact you vote off who goes therefore that kind of "lines are the closest they've ever been" tactic wouldn't work as well because you're not voting for your favourite. Except for the end of course - by which time there is usually a clear winner anyway and everybody knows it.

Dont exaggerate - i dont think they are quite that bad. The host are only doing their job which is to get people to vote. Whether people vote is up to them.

Voting for your favourite or not - even with two people up Davina could imply every week the voting is 50/50 - but I can't really recall her ever doing that, except perhaps on occassion when it genuinely has been. The last close eviction I recall was Orlaith and Kemal in BB6, which was something like 49.5% to 50.5% - and it wasn't really mentioned.

If shows like The X Factor only did it occassionally it wouldn't be an issue - but they do it every single week!

Back to Big Brother - this has to be the first series in quite a while where there is no clear front runner. In fact, there are only a couple of HMs who I'd say have no chance of winning it - Jermaine and Jack.

Cleo, Dirk, Danielle and Jade are all serious contenders, with H and Jo also in with a good chance.

Shilpa I think would do quite well if she made the final - but I think she's highly likely to be nominated and it all depends who she is up against as there is a bit of a "love her" or "hate her" element out there.

Yes it annoys me when they do that too - but you trying to say Big Brother is better just because they dont do it?

I could get started on what's the point in voting to give someone a record deal when generally the judges have decided long before the final who they are going to sign as well, but I won't as we're going far too off topic! Wink

The current odds, from Paddy Power, on the winner:
Cleo Rocos 5 - 2
Dirk Benedict 3 - 1
Jade Goody 4 - 1
Shilpa Shetty 9 - 2
Ian 'H' Watkins 9 - 1
Jermaine Jackson 14 - 1
Jo O'Meara 16 - 1
Danielle Lloyd 16 - 1
Jack Tweedy 50 - 1
Any Other (Not Listed) 16 - 1

Cleo would be my personal favourite at the moment.

And we'd never want to go off topic would we Wink

It also annoys me that people like Jade Goody and Chantelle suddenly become famous because of appearing in this programme. At least some of those on the X Factor do have some talent.

I couldn't care less what happens to people once they leave - though it's generally the very journalists that complain about "celebs" like Chantelle and Jade that are responsible for their continued place in the public eye!

However, at least Jade and Chantelle have had some reasoning to their fame, appearing on a top rated show every night for however many weeks - unlike others (who often appear on these celeb reality shows) who are basically famous for sleeping with people. You know who I mean!

That's true. Although they do actually tend to it when you're voting for your favourite - although it hasn't happened this series, it did happen in the final of BB7 when Davina opened with the line "Think it's a one horse race? Think again". It was a load of rubbish. It was a one horse race from the moment the series began and they were just playing up on all the hype that week when a certain housemate's odds had shortened dramatically and various forums believed that housemate had a chance of winning.
