Evictions are the first step - take the focus away from the crowd and put it back on Davina, by placing the show back in the studio and including more from the friends and family and from behind the scenes. It needs to get that more intimate feeling back.
I think the friends and family stuff kinda went away when BBLB came to town.
Davina talks to Dermot on CBBLB about tonights final and the layout of tonights show. Very interesting as it happens.
She is so much more beautiful when she isn't made up etc. If you look at her presenting Live her hair is much darker and her whole face looks totally pulled from behind. Looks terrible!
I agree. heres another video of the best bits from BBLB. In my opinion, much better edited than the main shows one. I love the transition effect with each housemate in the diary room!
I feel a remixed BB theme for BB8, and a completly new feel to it. They are going to have to, to refresh the programme. Its been the same for too long.
I do hope CBB6 goes ahead In January 2008. CBB's have all been very different, but thats due to the people in it.
Agree about the theme - I wouldn't ditch it all together, but it definately needs remixing so it feels different as it's essentially been the same for seven years.
Re: CBB - I definately think it should return - but I actually think giving it a rest next year would do it alot of good - which they may have to do if they move house anyhow.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Champions of Champions in it's place, perhaps with some international winners thrown into the mix aswell. All Stars would be fine too - but that would mean the risk of Nikki being on our screens again. I wonder though whether ex-HMs will be as willing to come forward though after what happened with Jade.
I also wouldn't mind seeing a second Teen Big Brother, perhaps airing on E4 instead.
Re: BBLB - that's true to some extent, but now that's back on E4 - and especially now the eviction shows are half an hour longer, there is room for them back on the main shows.
And it be nice to see the reunion when they leave the house too - if not before the interview, at least at the end of it.
Well that was a predictable final result. I was hoping she wouldn't win it.
She was rather annoying. Nowhere near as annoying as Jade, but more annoying than Ian. I was disappointed they sent Jack and Danielle out together. I'm glad it's over now.
Who's the ratings winner? Top Gear or Celebrity Big Brother? It's bound to be CBB. It always does. Anyway Top Gear was over before the final result.
Media Guardian reporting Top Gear 7.9m and CBB 5.8m - though this was in their text, so I don't know if those are "whole programme" ratings, peaks or a mixture.
It probably says alot more about our society that people will tune in in record numbers to watch a car crash than to watch good triumph over evil!
The breakdown of BB's ratings from MediaGuardian:
Quote:
Celebrity Big Brother's first hour last night from 8pm attracted 4.9 million viewers and a 17% share against Top Gear.
The reality show's ratings grew in the second hour from 9pm, when Shilpa Shetty was named the winner.
Across the 9pm hour Celebrity Big Brother averaged 6.8 million viewers, peaking with 7.3 million in the final quarter hour up to 10pm. Overall, the final averaged 5.8 million viewers between 8pm and 10pm.
Worth noting considering the final is normally split into two hour shows.
As they ran consequtively we got much less commercial breaks last night - the show ran in six parts, rather than the usual eight.
Overall the average ratings for the series were 4.4m (18%) - compared to 5m (20%) last year. It's the second worst performing Celeb series behind CBB3 two years ago.
Who's the ratings winner? Top Gear or Celebrity Big Brother? It's bound to be CBB. It always does. Anyway Top Gear was over before the final result.
Have you changed your username? I swear you was called something else this morning.
He was Ziggy whatsit - threw a 'Goodbye Forever' hissy fit the other day in the Newsroom forum because he was fed up of being sneezed on (or something).
