Big Brother 2011 on Channel 5

She seemed a bit too cool for school and being uber cool isn't exactly BB material. Although I can see that she's there on standby just in case Emma is unable to present.

Alice will be presenting the weekend editions anyway - so ready made stand in I guess.

Totally forgot this was on, managed two minutes whilst flicking through the channels... truly, truly awful!

It was lacking a certain something tonight as well as the celebrities. I can't quite put my finger on what tough, it just seemed to have less of a sense of occasion than previous launch nights.

The line-up didn't exactly help. It was kinda what I was expecting from C5 although on a par with the awful last C4 celebrity series. If you include Kerry Katona, 5 of them are famous for being on other reality TV shows and 2 are just famous for being married to someone

When you consider some of the people who've done it before that's quite dire. Tara reid is probably the best booking there and she's hardly a household name

You read correctly, there was a 'dog' in the 'Bit On The Side' audience that did that.

Glad to see that Dirty Des isn't taking Channel 5 downmarket.

C5 have pulled it off, in my opinion. Brian Dowling seemed to cope well last night, the house looks good, and even though it didn't have that 'spark' as somebody mentioned, it's still Big Brother-y enough.

However, I only know Katona, Jedward, and Tara Reid. I only know Tara from American Pie so that's not particularly exhilarating, and I hate the other three. I think I'll be missing this series.

Last night got Channel 5's highest ever audience - 5.1 million
