My question is WHY are you watching it? Because it's on? Surely not for the entertainment value.

I really don't see the interest in watching non entities spending a few weeks on an island. Read a book if there's nothing on, go out, put a DVD on but please don't just watch it because it's on.

Oh I can't believe you people have started to like this? Just think about the people they are and the money involved. Please! Confused Rolling Eyes

Most episodes are on at 10pm anyway, so it might as well stay in that slot, it's not exactly the peak slot.

Well they could put it into the 10pm slot. However a certain Big Brother programme will have that slot from that week and it's pretty certain what channel the viewer will go for.

My question is why do people want this series to fail? Is it just because its on ITV?

I personally want it to fail because it might show ITV that viewers don't want Z-List Celebrity dross. They are so good at making decent dramas and decent programming when they bother, and yet they choose to just let nobodies plan the schedule for them. I hope this recent stack of failures might teach them something.

To keep trying to get another reality format that works, as they need to secure that young audience that doesn't watch drama?
You never thought of that angle?!

ITV churn out the same programmes now day in and day out, we just want to see a decent entertaining programme that relies on the talent of either a decent TV presenter or actor. But this won't happen unless every single Celeb type programme flops.

One minute they cry poverty, cut a few hundreds jobs and then waste thousands of pounds on endless naff programmes.

Yes I have. But Channel 4 does that sort of thing so much better (in my opinion anyway) They should consider trying other formats that young people might like. Edgy sitcoms for example. Perhaps even consider importing American programming.

I have only dropped in and out of CLI this last week but actually stuck with it for the full 30 minutes tonight and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

It was much better than anticipated and I think I nearly enjoyed it. There was VERY little of Patrick and Kelly presenting but instead just loads of clips of everyone.

Jayne Middlemiss is making an idiot of herself but doesnt realise it!
I particularly like all the whispering that goes on in the beds and Paul trying to bag ANY of the ladies.

I've heard that Nadia is being sent over to spice things up! I think that is such a bad idea.

I wonder if its true about those 2 not speaking off screen, I noticed they hardly looked at each other during tonights show.

It seems people here arent willing to give this show a chance, and just cant wait for it to fail. The first episode was quite boring but its picked up a lot since then and isnt a bad series in my opinion. People should give the series a chance and if they dont like it dont watch it.
