Ceefax STILL GOING!

Why the 30th of April?

Next CEEFAX IN VISION on BBC ONE Scotland, by the way, is Monday 2nd April from 0215 - 0250.

I believe that is when last of the DSO takes place, saying that I cant see it myself, as BBC Scotland or yourself will still need to put out a few pages to fill the gapes

No - analogue will continue until 24th October, when the last transmitters switch over.

'Why the 30th of April?'

Because I had read it would continue until April, and as the 30th is the last day of that month, I thought that date would be a more obvious guess than others.

Guess ! The final DSO date of Oct 24th has been mentioned in here countless times !

I notice on Question Time they still point viewers to Ceefax for more information as well as Interactive, so it isnt dead yet as they're still promoting it!

CEEFAX in vision on BBC ONE Scotland tonight for half an hour from 0218!

I can say a few people are very grateful for the advance notice, I was able to pass on the information.

There's a rumour that Pages from Ceefax will be replaced by pages from the red button after the last DSO. But that's Network BBC2. Not sure about Scotland BBC1.
