CBS Drama with Dynasty etc. could be quite nostalgic viewing for fans of the 80s. Interesting move - though the EPG slots aren't that great if they stay as now.

As for Letterman - I think that the Letterman/Leno/Conan style of show just doesn't work in the UK. We don't "get" the shows in the same way as the US audiences do. I think it's a cultural thing, in the same way that the US Saturday Night Live doesn't quite work for a UK audience either.

SNL leaves me cold, I just don't get it. However it is sort of an example of something which is a staple over here but the US don't really get - a sketch show. Whereas we've had loads over the years, apart from SNL and Rowan and Martin they've never really taken off.... nor have panel shows

One good thing in the lineup - Judge Judy.

Am fed up with ITV2 playing the same seven/eight year old series again and again instead of putting their hand in their pocket and buying some new ones.

Good god, they play her 4 times a day, so it obviously gathers an audience.

Yep - very good points. French and Saunders, The Fast Show, A Little Bit of Fry and Laurie, Three of a Kind, The Lennie Henry Show were all reasonably popular sketch shows over here etc.

I think Bennie Hill and Monty Python were reasonably popular in the US - but they were imported sketch shows rather than home grown.

The only recent-ish sketch show that was quite succesful in the US was The Tracey Ullman show - but then she's a Brit (as was her husband who produced it?)

No one appears to have discussed the channel logos. Attached. Not a fan myself. Too simple.

They look quite basic, but not tacky. Take note though as CBS in America is using a different font now on it's logo. I'll judge when I see them on screen, where they could be totally different.

The channels' websites are up
http://cbsaction.co.uk/
http://cbsreality.co.uk/
http://cbsdrama.co.uk/

For the moment, they have nice big versions of the logos on them.
Note that the "r" in drama is different to the "r" in reality.

I noticed this too, I guess they are just design ideas for now?

The R used in CBS Drama is also used by NRK in Norway.

Oh didn't realise CBS had updated it's font over in the US. I really hope they don't launch their channels here with the old branding......

CBS News still uses the Serifed one, as does CBS Outdoors, the UK Advertising part of CBS

Custom Drawn.

However not all the CBS US Brands have adopted it, CBS News are sticking to the Bodoni classic style.

Actually, the new CBS lettering isn't custom drawn - it's a font by Thirstype called Infinity.
