For those of you who love a bit of singing along to kids TV themes - press red on CBeebies and enjoy the all new singalong interactive on Freeview 702.

I love this idea - 702 sits with a test card (a stunning one but still) on for most of the week and this use of it is just fantastic.

Or rather no more than a still caption. It's not a test card, there's notihng ont hat card that could be used for testing, I fail to see whay it's been refered to as such (as well as other captions) so many times.

I think it's spread in an evil way like plasma being used for every non-normal TV screen.

This is fantastic, now if channel 4 put this on between 7 and 9am they would get viewers alright! I'm hooked.

CBeebies declares National Sing-a-Song Week
This week CBeebies is encouraging mums, dads and carers to get singing in Sing-a-Song Week.
Chris Jarvis, presenter with the BBC's pre-school digital channel, is encouraging parents and carers to get involved with the nation's most popular children's channel along with their kids.
"Here at CBeebies we can't wait to see what the nation's favourite CBeebies song is and hope that everyone will have lots of fun in the process," he says.
"CBeebies Sing-a-Song week will be encouraging you to break into song, helping your child's development whilst having a good time!"
As part of the week CBeebies will be running Top of the Tots - a chance for viewers and their children to pick your favourite CBeebies theme tune.
CBeebies viewers will be able to sing along to the top ten favourite songs by pressing the red button on their remote control where they and their children can have fun with CBeebies karaoke.
They are then invited to vote for the top CBeebies theme tune via the CBeebies website - www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies.
The top tune will be announced on the CBeebies channel on Friday (3 October).
The BBC has a history of a successful contribution to the musical arts and CBeebies is proud to do its bit with classic theme tunes like Balamory, Fimbles and Tweenies.
Research shows that singing to your child can help encourage their vocabulary and attention span.
Repetition of simple songs and chants can help your child to learn the basic structure of spoken language.
Music also offers children a way to explore a whole range of moods and emotions they can identify with, but can't yet put into words.
The CBeebies website will be providing lots more fun to coincide with sing-a-song week.
Join in the fun by singing songs and making music with your favourite CBeebies characters.
Join in with Balamory Karaoke where you can sing along to all the popular Balamory songs;
and our lovely Fimbles songs;
you can dance and sing along with Tamba to the Tikkabilla Jive;
and have fun with Tweenies Songtime with all your Tweenie favourites;
there are Teletubbies nursery rhymes;
and you can Make Music with Max - a game created with partially sighted children in mind.
Together with specially scheduled programmes like Spots Musical Adventures, Zingalong and a Tweenies Top of the Pops, CBeebies will be launching a new song to aid numeracy and will be paying tribute to that old Carpenters classic, Sing-a-song, with the Fimbles and Jelly and Jackson from the Story Makers as backing singers.
CBeebies Sing-a-Song week runs from today (Monday 29 September) to Friday (3 October).

Saw this for the first time today. Good idea. The Chris Jarvis links in between are a bit full of cheese. It’s just his smile. Anyway, very nice.

The CBeebies dog spins too much and is much lower on screen. Why is that? On my 4:3 TV, The BBC DOGS are only half shown, but in the BBC CHOICE days, the dog with the www.bbc.co.uk/choice address was much lower and fitted fully on my TV. Since the change to Normal choice and Three dog (And the change of Knowledge and four dog) I now get a little bit chopped off at the top of the dogs.

Anyway, wonder why CBeebies dog is lower/smaller. Back to the big one next week!

What a brilliant idea this is!! I think I'll see a bit of that with Isabella (my niece - 22 months) when I see her tomorrow. She always has CBeebies on when we visit, so no doubt we'll get a concert!!

Easy to answer - it needs to be lower so the little ones watching will be able to see it!
