I'm now getting the BBC HD channels on the Virgin EPG. BBC Three and Four HD are currently showing the normal off air screen, whilst the rest are showing a preview screen for the new channels. No date, just 'Coming soon' in typical Virgin style.

163 BBC Three HD
164 BBC Four HD

Crazy that BBC Two HD is further down the list on 187. No surprise really as Virgin Media's Channel numbering is in a right state. Sky Living HD above ITV HD and so on. Tsk.

Yep, Virgin's numbering is pretty messed up now. Entertainment channels are starting to go past 200 and into the factual section. It's mainly because of all the HD and +1 channels that are having to be slotted into any spaces left to fill.

Sky Living HD being above ITV HD is leftover from when Living was owned by Virgin Media Television/Flextech. ITV HD of course launched after Living, and there was already space to put Living HD in between Living and +1.

I see.... Just seems crazy that they haven't done a mass, logical renumbering. A female skewed minority entertainment channel shouldn't be listed before popular mainstream public service channels but I guess this is off topic. Sorry!

That is rather irritating especially as 162 is vacant and could be an ideal spot. I could see they might not want to change the channel number though...

It's possible that they've put BBC Three on 163 and BBC Four on 164 in order to put BBC One on 161 and BBC Two on 162.

HD presentation on BBC Three. Note the oversized DOG with HD bug over the standard DOG. For some reason, that larger BBC Three logo doesn't appear to be rendered for HD, but the rest looks good - even Jack Whitehall's eyebrows....

A little indulgence on my part - the BBC Four 'Ice' ident on the HD test transmission (announcerless too!)

I also notice that the normal DOG appears to be back in the 4:3 safe area.

The DOGs on all the HD test channels have been jumping around - being either 4:3 safe or 16:9 title safe. I'm sure once the test transmissions have been completed, they'll settle in their rightful places.

Well yes, that sort of thing is the reason why they test rather than just crashing on air

I was just pointing it out.

A good observation, although I was replying to Andrew
