That is still true, these are literally just tests we could see all of them popup as tests, they've just made a random decision to test the CBeebies/BBC Four output first.
I'm sure there's a good reason for it rather than just being 'random'.

What?! So there was no coin with BBC Four and CBeebies on one side and BBC Three and CBBC on the other?

I am sure there's a valid reason but without working there like thegeek does it's gonna feel random isn't it.

I imagine Sky will insist on the HD channel swap being active for BBC Three/Four/CBBC/CBeebies. If I remember rightly Sky only opt channels out of the swap if there are regional variants carried in SD but not HD, as is the case for 101-105. Regarding the Extra+/HD subscription comment, the BBC channels are FTA so you can get their HD channels without any subscription.

I find it a tad strange they are testing BBC Four/CBeebies first, given that BBC Three/CBBC is the one that currently has a placeholder on Freeview and is therefore able to launch quicker.

I wish Virgin offered this service. Would be lovely to be use 101/102 instead of 108/187

CBBC HD and BBC Three HD are replacing Red Button HD on DTT, I take it there's no Red Button HD on Satellite is there?

Yes there is, but as mentioned above it might not be viewable on a Sky box.

BBC3 will replace the HD Red Button, so presumably once Dr Who 3D is over that channel will close and be replaced by BBC3 HD.

Which probably answers why BBC4 HD is testing first - it is a new service on the transponder

It's the broadcasters that decide whether or not to use the ' EPG Swap' function, Sky offer the service,
and so far the only PSB to take advantage is UTV. As I already mentioned there are BBC HD services, that are regionally identical to their SD simulcasts, yet no swaps.

The Virgin EPG is a mess at the moment. Entertainment channels are spilling into the 200s with the +1s and HDs appearing all over the place.

This is interesting move.

Can I get these upscaled channels myself from the Astra 28.2E satellite very soon as I haven't seem them yet?

CBBC HD now testing on satellite. No doubt BBC Three HD will make an appearance from 6:59pm
Freq: 10847 V
Symbol rate: 23000
ID 6951/52

Not expected, as BBC Red Button HD continues at the same time as this test stream. So BBC RB HD could turn into BBC News HD on satellite? (Assuming the BBC keeps 4x HD on both HD transponders).

A reminder: these tests are not available via Sky boxes due to their limited technical specifications.

Interesting, so Three is on the other HD transponder. I'd forgotten about News HD but that would make sense if it replaces the Red Button. I'd have thought that when it tests it won't be upconverted

AIUI, Three HD is replacing the RB on terrestrial

Something I had assumed was that the relevant service licences issued by the Trust for these new services would be amended for a 2014 start. In fact the amendments were issued in September, which could mean as soon as the Who events conclude that the services (at least CBBC and THREE) will be go.

DVB Cornwall the assumption of the mentioned licences were correct. Those licences are listed with their channel links below.
