It won't have the BBC name with it because theire name is already included in the name the corporation is known as The Beeb, hence cBEEBies

It's a bit of a stupid name I agree, but hey.

Yes, it's plain stupid to call it Cbeebies when there won't be the BBC logo on it. This is the first BBC TV Channel that won't have their logo on!

the |B|B|C| LOGO might be in the bottom corner with Cbeebies in the centre of the screen.

plus i think it's a witty name. even if some yanks do not understand it.

I've had a vision of the BBC Logo in the middle of the screen, the the letters flying to form this (without the dashes, they're just there to demonstrate): CB__B___, and the the letters EE IES appear in the gaps. Could someone make a mock of that? Smile

The C Beebies name is **** in stupid, why not call it BBC KIDS! I can't wait to see the end of that black & yellow style animations currently used on CBBC either. The CBBC design was good when I was a kid in 1991!

Isn't there already a BBC Kids? Doesn't it broadcast abroad? Anyway, if it did, I don't see why they couldn't use this name.

BBC Kids is a channel BBC Worldwide run in Canada - possibly also in the USA - not sure if it's on air yet but it definitely exists.

Using the name BBC Kids in the UK would be an invitation for critics to accuse the BBC of 'dumbing down'. Going from Children's BBC to BBC Kids? I think the term 'kids' would still be regarded as too colloquial, too Americanised, too 'commercial television' for the BBC to use.

I agree - if there's one thing worse than BBC Kids, it's Cbeebies! But then to be fair, I can't think of a decent name at all!

But whatever happened to BBC PLAYBOX? - The name originally
used to describe one of the new BBC didital childrens' channels?

I hate the name Cbeebies and think that very few people will get the pun, let alone grow to like it...

Peter.
