I very much doubt BBC ONE & TWO will start using DOGs as the complaints last time made them withdraw em, they were only used on Digital Satelite though not analogue:)

Sadly I think it's only a matter of time before we see all channels putting some form of watermark stamp on the pictures - they've been working on making sure of that for at least a decade now.
Even the BBC are sneakily getting everyone to accept the idea. All the new digital channels have them (Choice, News 24 and Knowledge) and of course, BBC ONE and BBC TWO overnights have had dogs on them as well since 1998 I think.
You can sort of understand the reasons for it as well - if everything that is broadcast has some branding watermark on the picture, in the times of not only VCR but also tivo and recordable DVD, you need something to not only remind the viewer of the source channel but also prevent programmes recorded off the television being sold illegially for profit.
About the only channel I can really imagine having problems introducing a DOG is ITV1 - how do you ensure 15 channels all have the same dog in exactly the same place, and that none of them 'modify' it to their own branding? ITV2 and ITV Sport Channel already have one of course....
Also whilst on the subject of DOGs, was it me or on the Tuesday of the first week of the new ITV2 branding, didn't they have a 50% transparent DOG with the blue and gold colours? I'm sure they did and it wasn't just my imagination. Sadly they seem to have lost it, and resorted to making everything look like a trailor...

BP
BBC TWO learning zones uses several dogs for its schools progs. One for BBC 2 / learning then a bar for the length of the programme, then another for the programme number of the day..... far too much and I hope CBBC on 1 and 2 dosn't start, Blue Peter with a DOG surely not!http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/shocked.gif
BP
Also Blue Peter and the other CBBC progs at 5pm seem the only BBC ONE progs not to have the announcer talking over the end credits.... (except news etc...)

I think that's purely due to the fact that after BP is Newsround, and they seem to want to get rid of it now that they've shoved it down into 5.30, plus after newsround the titles are only 5 seconds long, and CBBC ends after it so they have nothing to announce anyway

Interesting - it rate higher in its current slot than it did in the old 1700 one.... hardly a sign that the beeb wants to get rid of it???
