Another condition - any 4:3 material must be shown as such.

Ohh right - now I feel old.
Some of the programmes I would call 'classic' Childrens BBC One shows, no-one has mentioned here yet..

So, for starters..
Beat The Teacher
Swap Shop
Jigsaw
We Are The Champions

yes, 4:3 TV was actually made from the 16:9 film reels being cut into shape with pinking sheers. This was used to line up the image on the old TV sets.

Actually, who would like a CiTV Classics channel or Arc-Kids channel?
I've even made a live show called Vote4It and a thing called Woof! vs Barking! OR,just thought of it,a sketch called Duff! [as in someone hurting themselves!] .

A lot of people on digital spy think citv got ruined in may 1998 when it gave us these great shows:
The Worst Witch[turned into The new worst witch]
Bernard's Watch[turned into Bernard]
Mad For It
Pump it Up[replaced Fun House]
Mashed[till august ,then the mighty SM:tv and CD:uk]
The Quick Trick Show[Is it still on or has it gone?]

I suppose CBBC weren't too bad and CiTV aren't as good at long running dramas.I never really watched 24Seven but i watch Byker Grove.

Still watch CiTV though!

I think it was actually Twister that replaced Fun House, as its format is almost exactly the same.

Surely the best program was from 1987-1994... ...Knightmare.

You and me both. Here for your pleasure is the delightful Pat Keysell from Vision On, who taught me a thing or two in drama school, a lifetime or so ago...
