Well based on that release it's safe to say when the new look to CBBC One to appear then...

'CBeebies will premiere the brand new series from Ragdoll - Teletubbies Everywhere' - what a horrible thought!!!

2 days before my birthday! http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/cheesy.gif I heard something about a televised UK Top 40 back in 1999, so now it's happening! http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/shocked.gif Can't wait!! Though it's hardly likely they'll bring back the 1991-1997 styled 'Children's' logo. Sad

'At the same time the channels will launch with their own distinctive logos and brand identities which will also be carried through on CBBC on BBC ONE and CBeebies on BBC ONE and BBC TWO. '

Mmmm sound interesting. So a new look for CBBC in February then.

Obviously there is room on the Sky Digital platform for both these new channels....... but where are they going with ITV Digital?

Are they cramming them on to the BBC Multiplex? Or have I missed something somewhere?

They will operate from 6.00am-7.00pm using the bandwidth currently occupied by BBC Choice and BBC Knowledge, which will become evening-only services.  However they will appear to be separate channels as they will have their own channel numbers.

EDIT: Apparently CBBC will start at 7.00am not 6.00.

As if we need any more of this, it's bad anough on the flippin' radio every Sunday from 4!

OK, we all like music, and I'm sure we all like to know which slot our favourite tune is in each week in the charts - but why do they have to do it over so many stations, and now the television?! BBC radio needs to sort itself out, and fast (except R2).

As for the CBBC relaunch, well I look forward to seeing the new sprakly design of this (second time lucky, unlike the last rebrand last year). And I'm sure CBeebies will get off to a flying start...then again, will it? http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/confused.gif

I agree in that the singles chart is given too much importance in relation to the number of singles that are actually sold - far less than 20 or 30 years ago.  There needs to be greater emphasis on the album chart as album sales dwarf single sales, and indeed Radio 2 now broadcast an album chart which is far easier to listen as it's not packed with the kind of rubbish you hear in the singles chart.

On the other hand the CBBC channel seems quite an appropriate place to show a Top 40 chart show since most singles are bought by the under-16s anyway! http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/cheesy.gif

I just found out more info about the new top 40 chart show on Digital Spy -

'CBBC also announced that it is working in conjuntion with Radio 1 to broadcast The Official UK Top 40 on CBBC. Hosted by Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq and Adrian Dickson, it will play out new chart highlights as well as simultaneously revealing the new Number One.'

So it looks like it will only play out the new chart 'highlights'.
Also on digitalspy.co.uk you can find out the schedule for the launch day of CBBC and CBeebies.

Well unless 11th February is the start of half term week (which I wouldn't know about, being years past that stage! Smile ) I still see little point in transmitting the likes of Get Your Own Back and The Demon Headmaster to an audience that should be at school!!  And I thought there were going to be three editions of Newsround a day - I can only see one edition, at 6.25-6.30).

The CBeebies schedule looks little different from a typical day on CBBC on Choice.
