In those years when BFT was 8 weeks, was it all networked, not regional opt outs?

Considering it used to replace Kilroy etc on actual BBC1, it shows how relaxed things were in the days before digital TV when it didn't matter if all the adult viewers disappeared for 2 months.

Yes, it was all networked, although I do recall in 1997, I think, BBC Scotland had to opt out for a couple of weeks to show episodes of Harry and the Hendersons that had been on the network a few weeks earlier, because I think the rights were about to run out.

Of course in those days daytime TV was pretty piecemeal, especially in the summer when it was frequently interrupted by sport, so all the big daytime shows like Kilroy and Daytime UK would never run all year round, they'd have ended about May and there'd have been loads of repeats and short run series working around the test matches and Wimbledon and so on. And of course, there was nowhere else to put the kids shows. Also in the late eighties and early nineties the Beeb were being thrashed by ITV in daytimes.

And at least one year I did ask my parents to record at least the first day of BFT, while I was still at school, so I could see it begin.

I remember a trail for Children's BBC Scotland being broadcast on network during one of Andi Peters' broom cupboard links. It ended with the 91 - 94 logo and "Scotland" under the "BBC", which was strange to see.

BBCME posted:
Here is a very rare CBBC TWO Scotland ident used before the Scottish school holiday opt outs.

I'm pretty sure that there would have been a CBBC TWO Alba version too, for Gaelic kids' programmes

As an aside I wonder why BBC Alba doesn't use CBeebies branding for its kids shows. It would surely make the strand a bit more accessible than the regular branding they presumably use.

Glasgow DOES have copies: http://www.tv-live.org.uk/tv-presentation/bbc/bbc-alba/bbc-alba-1985-2008/#lightbox/2/

And were used on BBC 2 Scotland until 2010? Mind you there only about 40mins worth of those shows with another 40mins from CBBC type shows

Last time I checked BBC Alba didn't use any continuity at all between it's kids shows - straight from endboard into intro.

That does happen, but there are a few times when ident and promos are used. I think you may have seen block of epsoies like Pepper pig

Not sure if this is the right thread but could anyone do a list of CBBC channel presenters including standins since 2002.

Search back - I'm sure there is link to one either from the BBC or a fansite earlier in the thread.

I remember once BBC Scotland took over the control of providing late June/early July school holiday cover, the amout time letter appeared on POV seem to grow every year.

At least BBC tried, unlike half of ITV who were just lazy lazy gets. Carlton and Granada being the worse of the lot. Even in 96 Anglia/Med had kids stuff, while STV manged to have new productions and other kids stuff, mind you there always slipped in Square meals in at 11.55.
