Hacker still does links with Joe.

But it’s not like they share the responsibility. It’s more like Hacker appearing in short bursts.

Fair point.

Series 2 of Dennis and Gnasher: Unleashed will finally begin on 13th July at 7.15am and 3.25pm.

Seems like a bit of a low-key slot for something new, especially considering all the content rationing. Then again, maybe the quality is a bit rubbish, considering the 8-9 month delay (it was originally due in late 2019).

The synopsis sound terrible as well.

Episode 1: 1/52 New teacher Miss Mistry is taking Class 3C on a trip to Flumes ‘o’ Doom theme park.
Episode 2: 2/52 Pieface is secretly doing chores for Walter, hoping to help Dennis save up some cash.
Episode 3: 3/52 It’s time for Gnasher’s annual bath, but the stinky hound will do anything to avoid it.
Episode 4: 4/52 The after-school art club is under threat of imminent demolition.
Episode 5: 5/52 JJ is convinced that Mrs Creecher is secretly a master of Blamjitsu.

These started today. New theme song, no Pie-Face (although I think he will return). I didn’t watch the whole thing, I got bored about 3 minutes in. Walter was doing what Dennis would’ve done in 2013 series, trying to get him into trouble. This just tells us how PC the show (and the strip in the Beano) have become.

That sounds good but how are they going to fit a 2 and a half hour show into 30 mins?

No cartoons. No children in the studio. No celebrity guests.

You THINK he'll return? He's specifically mentioned in episode 2's description.

By the way, there's a reason for Walter's personality change. He used to be Walter the SOFTY, but Dennis's behaviour towards him would be seen as bullying nowadays. So they transformed him into Walter Brown, son of Mayor Wilbur Brown, a kid who tries to spoil everyone else's fun and wants to grow up to have a position of power like his father. That therefore justifies it when Dennis does anything to him, as Dennis is usually provoked (you want to spoil my fun, I'll stop you), and it's often his own hubris that's his downfall.

While he isn't in the cartoon due to originally being from Roger the Dodger's strip, the Beano does still have a bully character, Cruncher Kerr, named after former editor Euan Kerr. The difference, of course, is that he's always depicted as a villain, while Dennis is supposed to be the hero, which is why he can't be shown to be a bully.

Dennis used to be mischievous, playing pranks on his parents, teachers, and people around Beanotown. I don't see why he has suddenly turned into a good guy.

It's not only in the cartoon. As far as I know, the most naughty thing Dennis does in the beano is eat 3 biscuits before dinner ( Surprised )

I don't really understand why they're advertising Blue Peter in the "Mega Summer" schedule as there's no more new episodes until... after summer?

Surely it would make more sense to promote that Summer Mash-Up thing they're putting in the slot.

Also, a look at the guests for Summer Mash-Up (coming from the Blue Peter garden):

*Strictly Come Dancing professionals Janette Manrara and Gorka Marquez
*Team GB gymnasts Becky and Ellie Downie
*Emmerdale actors Ash Palmisciano (Matty) and Bradley Johnson (Vinny)
*Demon Headmaster’s Ellie Botterill (Lizzie) and Jordan Crammond (Tyler)

They’ve been pushing that trailer since June.

Will be nice to see The Demon Headmaster cast on something, they haven’t done loads of guest appearances like the cast of of something like The Dumping Ground has.

On that note, the latter show has begun filming again (they need to have 24 eps ready by January), with exterior scenes.

Do we know if Demon Headmaster has been renewed? Hopefully this appearance will confirm any suspicions.
