To top it off, in 2008, CBeebies on BBC One made a brief comeback, albeit this time with no in-vision continuity links whatsoever, and as in 2005, there was an information slide with Andy Day urging young viewers to visit the CBeebies Channel, until CBeebies on One was finally axed in September 2010:

Very interesting that at the end of that slide, Ed Petrie says "Or you can stay with me, for CBBC!", which contained in-vision continuity while CBeebies didn't?

CBBC One (Sept 2007 - 2011 era) didn't have any in-vision continuity apart from a link at the end encouraging viewers to switch to the Channel.

Not to mention, from looking at the schedules up until December 2012, the afternoon strand was littered with filler, repeats and cartoons; even the live shows they had left: Blue Peter and Newsround got cut back, with the former only having repeats on One, as the new episodes premiered on the CBBC Channel, plus the length of Newsround bulletins was reduced.

Next weeks Blue Peter has been pre-recorded.

New CBBC series ‘The Snow Spider’ will air simultaneously on CBBC and BBC One Wales on Sundays from 29th March at 6.05pm. An interesting decision and hopefully something that they could consider for this other shows.

It’s likely because it’s a Welsh production rather than anything else.

Have the people of Wales been informed about the new spelling of their nation?

Tomorrow's Saturday Mash Up will be a 'best bits' special. I don't know whether they will be able to carry on past that. Blue Peter this week was pre-recorded and next week's is called 'We're Staying Home!'.

Blue Peter will have some problems in months to come because they won't be able to film challenges and things like it.

I was surprised they managed such a big production as Saturday Mashup last week to be honest. BP film a fair way out usually so it’ll depend what they can cobble together remotely. Like all tv it’ll be once this is all over when the effect really hits on screen.

CBeebies have said on Instagram that they are unable to record at the moment so no birthday cards from the near future for the foreseeable, though I imagine there are a lot of generic links that can be recycled. They say they are looking at an “alternative” (online perhaps?). Are CBBC still managing continuity by virtue of sharing with Newsround?

For the past few days the links have been the generic "But first, here's this..." and most of the segments have been on constant repeat à la UTV idents. Newsround seems to be live, though so props to them.

I think Blue Peter could still film in the studio as This Morning are doing but they probably don't want to confuse their audience so it might be better having their hosts anchor from home. I think though it could be an important show - CBBC need something a bit more longform to deal with it considering Newsround bulletins are pretty short nowadays (they'd be better off doing one longer bulletin a day).

Blue Peter of course can also offer ideas for things for kids to do at home.
