Going back to the tragic death of Mya-Lecia Naylor, they acknowledged it with a slide at the end of Millie Inbetween. *
My tweet was read out on BBC Four's Eurovision coverage and Rylan Clark-Neal replied to it. That's all.

It still breaks my heart. Every time I see it mentioned I get teary eyed. She was born only two years after me and to see her as such a brilliant actress and person was so heart warming. It's a real, real shame. She was one person that I wanted to interview on my radio show, and now that's never going to happen. I can't imagine what her family. friends and colleagues must be going through.

Was that "In loving memory" slide all they did? From what people have said here nothing else has been said either by CBBC Pres or by Newsround so showing that slide with no context is bound to have prompted difficult questions from kids to their parents. (Lizo Mzimba did a piece on the News Channel insisting that CBBC would handle this really well and explain things sensitively)

I'd have thought they might get an adult cast member to record a short tribute to go out before it - the kind of thing Bill Roach ends up doing when a Corrie cast member dies.
Write that down in your copybook now.

It's more than BBC1 did with EastEnders when Sandy Ratcliff died last week. Which was nothing.

Is there much precedent for them doing a slide for an actress who was in the show for four years, 30 years ago? Short of an 'in memory of' mention at the end of year credits, I'm not sure why anyone would expect more.

CBBC did a great Newsround special call gone a few years ago with Barney. My guess is CBBC will do something like this at some point. They can't make a documentary in such a sort period of time and due to the subject matter it will take time. Also as the cast member are young they might not feel up to and CBBC don't want to put pressure on them to talk about such a sensitive subject.

That's my guess anyway.

I guess Newsround did not talk about it as they have a small amount of time for a bulletin to explain a lot.

The new Blue Peter presenter is due to be revealed after Easter.
It says they were born in St Alban's and they're very tall. Any guesses based on the info we know and the silhouette?

The best guess I have at the moment is Chris Fox, technology reporter on BBC News, previously on Newsround. Hairline and stubble fits the silhouette but not sure whether the facts fit!

Obviously sad news but many viewers of EastEnders wouldn't have a clue who she was. As regards Mya-Leica Naylor, to pass away at 16 is truly horrible. RIP to both.
