Blue Peter will have its first new theme tune since the 2011 rebrand, composed by Banks & Wag. The new theme will be composed by Test^pattern

I couldn't really make it out. Mumbo-jumbo and mixed up with other themes.

The new badge is a diamond.

It really needs to be on twice a week, that would be the best birthday gift.

It seemed to mostly consist of excerpts from previous theme tunes.

It may have just been composed for their 60th anniversary. I'd be surprised if it becomes a permanent theme tune.

I have a feeling it will be used for the rest of the year, or until at least September.

It appears BP will be burying another time capsule this year.

Quite a decent attempt at mashing a lot of old themes together (even that really odd Music Makers version). Glad it’s being used for more than one episode!

Some of the themes have been odd over the years, especially that one that that was mostly DJ effect noises during the Konnie, Matt, Gethin & Zoe era.

Listening to the new mixed theme reminds me how wonderful and grand the 1999 theme was.

Or at least extending the weekly episodes to an hour and kind of giving it the Top Gear treatment. I think it would stand out in the schedules more then and probably be more repeatable too, not just as narrative repeats but in full rerun form too.

So literally every theme tune in there - I'm impressed. I've seen a couple of other goes at doing something similar - the time capsule unearthing end credits and the 50th documentary titles, but this is really good.

*there is a bit of the single version of the 1978 Mike Oldfield theme on top of the 1994 segment, presumably to reduce the jarring of cutting to an instrumental.

I like the idea, and it is fairly well done but I will miss the 2011 theme - one of my favourites.
