I would love to see Blue Peter moved across to BBC One or Two, because I think it is a family show?
You do realise what channels it used to be on before children's programme was shown (almost) only on the CBBC Channel? Maybe I'm getting old but I remember when there were only two episodes a week and an omnibus edition shown on Sunday mornings.
Two episodes a week and an omnibus edition is actually more than what it is now, it's only on once a week.
I think the problem lies with this great contract of brilliant live studio based programmes (eg. Blue Peter) sitting alongside gimmicky patronizing entertainment shows (Pop Slam being a prime example) then in-between are a great team of faces who are really great at entertaining although have to work In a cheap studio environment, the CBBC Office, where they're using PowerPoint to produce the graphics.
Personally, I would remove the 'office' studio, leaving Newsround alone, and broadcast longer community segments, some 5 minutes whilst some are 10, from the actual CBBC Office because they are located in BBC Bridge House which has perfect views onto MediaCItyUK that can be utilized to produce mini programmes, simply refered to as the Office.
To see how this could possible work, here is a great interview which was recently put up onto CBBCs YouTube Channel.
I believe this change could be the start, then take a detailed look at all programmes and cut any that are simply unnecessary.
At the risk of coming across as an old fart, the Office is a lot less cheap than what CBBC had when I was a lad...
but is what is produced there any more entertaining for having more cameras and puppets that talk?
I think the issue with using the space in Bridge House is lighting - fine for a quick interview but over the course of an afternoon the light levels outside will keep changing and you're back to the problems Daybreak mk1 had. And which the original plans for TC9 would have had http://www.tvstudiohistory.co.uk/tv%20centre%20history.htm#stage 2
It would also give the game away when links are pre-recorded!
I thought they'd axed HH, seemed to just repeat all the old episodes for the past few years.
Quote:
Horrible Histories
returns with a
revamped cast.
They've already done one without most of the original cast, a Magna Carta special. It seems a few of the old regulars will still be around in the new series, but most have moved on to new things - together, in the case of
Yonderland
and
Bill
.
It won't be the same without Bob Hail, but at least they're doing something a bit different this time round, focusing on a different historical figure each week.

Back to you, Sam.
Seeing as some of the old cast will be in the series, I bet Bob will be in it. Death was in the Magna Carta special in Chatty Deaths.

Your sure its not just a rehash of the diddy tv slot which used to be seen on Saturday morning.
