I remember a lead up to one presenter joining when they actually showed potential presenters “ trying out “. It might have been the lead up to Simon Thomas joining. Also I remember seeing Barney in an audition, in a programme on ITV where they showed people trying out to be CITV presenter.
Lynsey has proved to be a strong presenter since joining and I feel the team would be substantially weakened if she left at this stage. I saw a clip of the two newest presenters on their own last week and it did seem a bit awkward / weaker.

Well, that's not so much of a surprise given Mwaksy and Adam have done about a dozen shows between them, they'll clearly get better as it goes on. Adam looks like he gets it and Mwaksy seems lovely, and as suggested it was probably a bit of a downbeat day at CBBC with the news about Archie Lyndhurst, plus they were talking about Blank History Month so it was a bit more serious than usual.

I'm not sure why it's been suggested that Lindsey's departure is imminent or it's a waste having four presenters. Adam has said he's only working on Blue Peter half the week so it's seemingly not a full-time job anymore, so rather have four part-time presenters which gives you flexibility and ensures at least one of them will always be available than two but they're never there.

They did indeed make a film about the audition process that led to Simon Thomas getting the job, it was Richard Marson's idea, because he vividly remembered watching a film about Lesley Judd's first day which was one of the things that convinced him he wanted to work in TV, so he wanted to make something similar. In fact of the four presenters it featured, all four of them went on to TV success, as Simon competed alongside Jake Humphrey, Michael Underwood (both of whom of course went on to other roles at CBBC) and Jonas Hurst (who didn't, but I think has done alright on shopping channels and the like). In The Blue Peter Diaries, Marson says Jake was the favourite before the auditions because they thought he seemed quite cool, but he was a bit too much like Richard Bacon who he was replacing, so they went for Simon instead.

That episode of So Awkward that was pulled earlier in the run was aired today, nothing in the content was too questionable, but I noticed that there was no cold open and the episode ran to about 24/25 minutes so it looked like something had been cut out. Not sure what though, Ollie (Archie’s character) had his own sub-plot of sorts, but he wasn’t featured prominently.

26m 32secs on the iPlayer. Most of the rest of the series so far is an average of just under 28 minutes. Picked a random episode from Series 1 which only runs for 25 and a half minutes, so an episode running short compared to the rest isn't unusual for this show.

So they swapped episodes 10 and 11.

Not according to iPlayer. Last week it had eps 1-9 and 11, and checking now, what was 11 is labelled as episode 10 and the missing episode has been added as episode 11.

A new Newsround Special called ‘Young, Black and British - Hear Us’ is coming to CBBC in a couple of weeks. It sounds like it could be very powerful.

Sir David Jason has been doing all he can to care for Nicholas Lyndhurst & his family since his recent tragic loss of his son; Archie.

I found the article from the Daily Mail to be very emotional. It had left me in a lot of tears as I had read it tonight.

I still cannot believe that he was taken too soon. May Archie's soul rest in peace. Crying or Very sad

Yes, Archie could've gone to greater fame like his father...
But very nice of Sir David Jason to help out during this time of grieving.
Knowing that him and Nick have known each other since Only Fools, I can see why Nicholas needs him now more than ever to help him cope with the loss.

Also that photo of young Archie with his loving father is desperately trying to hit me in the feels.

What an awful article. Repeating a nugget of information from another paper without anything extra.... and then padded out with lots of waffle, and the compulsory quote from John Challis

Lovely he's helping his friend but this could be said in one sentence

It's a huge change from the high quality, compassionate journalism the Mail usually indulge in.
