I think it's relatively new, although I'm not a religious CBeebies fan so I wouldn't know.
Fan of the media industry, from the UK.

All the best for Ben in this troubling period he's been through.
Hope he recovers from this swiftly but also safely.

That must be a new thing? Though I've not watched Cbeebies much since lockdown

It’s because of the whole Blue Peter thing.

Very sorry to hear about Ben.

I believe there's only 3 left from series 8.

I don't really understand why they're advertising Blue Peter in the "Mega Summer" schedule as there's no more new episodes until... after summer?

Surely it would make more sense to promote that Summer Mash-Up thing they're putting in the slot.

I didn’t realise Blue Peter was a a drama programme, so why would they show new episodes? Wink

I'm not sure how long the schedule was changed for, but yesterday, instead of showing the entire series of The Snow Spider, which was what was in the original schedule, All Over The Place and Operation Ouch were bumped off for the first two episodes of Jamie Johnson series 5, followed by the next five after Show Me What You're Made Of and The Dumping Ground.

On Wednesday/Thursday, all the episodes that have been shown up to this point will be repeated.

I wonder why they did this, the episodes of Jamie Johnson would've only been off the iPlayer for about 4 days.

Because it is a moderately popular programme, which obviously still has a purpose.

CBBC don't just show drama programmes.

I think John is being pedantic about the use of the word "episode" rather than "edition".

A quick perusal of Genome will show that the Radio Times used "episode" to refer to individual BP programmes on occasion, so I think it's harsh to take issue with that.
Write that down in your copybook now.

That is pedantic - even for this place.

Looks like Summer Mash-Up may be on biweekly, no show on 6th August, instead a double bill of new So Awkward:
