I completely agree with you. I liked the first series best, 2nd was ok, but this 3rd series is very patchy. I'm really fed up with the Lauren character - she needs to be killed off (although I did find the French version funny this week) but surely the jokes are being worn out now. Catherine is a great actress so I hope she'll do some other things instead, perhaps do an hour special for Christmas 2007 and leave the sketch format.
The worst and laziest character is the charity woman - this was only just funny the first time, but to have her in every episode is boring.
I think there could be some more mileage in the Posh woman and her kids though.

The Northern Irish "My sons a gay" was very funny, but she has only used that one once for some reason.

Personally I've always found Nan Taylor to be the worst and laziest character, all she seems to do is swear and do that hideous laugh-- can't believe she is so popular 
I do like Derek Faye and Lauren Cooper, CT manages a variation on the same spiel each week
