I don't have a problem with Mulhern.

Exactly that's all you can say about him.

Why on earth have they copied the final Sky News era 5 News titles? Surprised

with the titles I think theve gone for the more 1994 look:

but I see what you're getting at Very Happy

Yeah, Channel 5 news kinda stole the original catchphrase titles for the news pre-ITN. Wink

Catchphrase got 5.1 million viewers taking into account +1!! Not bad! Very Happy
Myself, I overall enjoyed it - the thing that bugged me was the original buzzer sound effect was quickly cut at the end of the sound effect, rather than having time to fade out naturally. The same can be said for the sound effect as the bonus Catchphrase tiles are removed - effectively the same as Roy Walkers but hastily cut at the end of the sound.

I see noone has remarked about this. Surprised

Maybe I am being too picky? Confused

I did notice this (I noticed it when they did it on Saturday Night Takeaway), but I presume it's either done because they couldn't get a clean source, or the results of the remastering meant it was better to cut off the end.

Surely they could have put in a request to the Requests forum on here - I'm sure someone has a clean version!! Or made a new one?

Making a new one might not have been easy, considering the change in technology since the sound effects were made.

Viewing several vintage episodes resulted in me putting the closest thing to a clean version
of the buzzer noise. Less hacked than the one in the new series.

That sounds pretty clean to me!

A similar 3D looking Mr Chips existed in the Roy Walker ones that challenge showed tonight. He spins around the world when they choose the prize holiday.
