I hope he falls down the stairs and breaks his leg like Nick Weir used to do. It would show that the producers have understood what people liked about the programme.

He specifically mentioned in an interview that he's very careful with stairs, and that they learned from their past mistake and removed the stairs.

Overall, I like this version. I'm not a fan of Stephen Mulhern and his "new" catchphrases (ever so slightly different) - in fact, I'm not a fan of his in general. However, I think the show works despite him.

The last round is less exciting without the all-or-nothing element for the jackpot, but I'd still give it a 7/10.

In a way though, number 11 on the pyramid, might have been the star prize on the old format, and she still walked away with £25k. So its not really all or nothing.

I got it easily enough though.

Well done, you would've won a trip on a cruise ship.

Overall, better than I was expecting, and I did like how the contestant's colour animated around the screen when they buzzed in - that effect has been missing since the Roy Walker versions if I recall correctly - but I always liked that little touch. Also, the graphic 'bubbles' with the correct answer in them looked decent.

What are you on about? I was saying the new format lacks the all-or-nothing element.

I Quite enjoyed it! Smile I don't have a problem with Mulhern.

Titles for those not seen...

I don't have a problem with Mulhern.

Exactly that's all you can say about him.

Why on earth have they copied the final Sky News era 5 News titles? Surprised

Since its an STV Production, how much input would ITV have had in it?

The same as any other programme by an independent production company. For example The Cube or Family Fortunes.

I actually found Mulhern quite funny, his faces after a few 'weird' answers etc l!

Not exactly original though. Pretty sure Vernon Kay does that.

It was quite a faithful reboot of the show although I skipped through most of it on ITV Player. Not a fan of Stephen Mulhern at all, he's just a rent-a-presenter with very little charisma or charm. Also don't like the CGI animations. Cheap and nasty CGI never looks good. Mr Chips looks more dodgy in this reboot than in the 1994 opening titles. I'd rather they'd stuck with the 2D cartoon catchphrases of the Nick Weir era as they were at least quite charming.

I think Stephen was actually pretty good, I'm now waiting for the classic bonus catchphrases to see if he manages to keep it together or not...
