'Casualty' Thread—Is That the End?!

Though didn't that story help them move the main storylines to daytime? ISTR that the original Casualty was set specifically on the night shift.

Please tell me that they are NOT going to end CASUALTY....!!!! Nooooo!!!!! The BBC can't do that, to such a remarkable, show, that has been on air for over two decades. Please someone, confirm that they are not ending the show - it's part of BBC History! (If it does end... which it won't... would it end at the end of this current series?)

I could see it as a chance for BBC to distancesthe two programmes, Holby and Casulaty, even further. Holby City is a spin off from Casualty but in recent years it has become a hospital drama of its own and as both programmes are actually made in different cities (Casulaty is made n Bristol and Holby City is made at Elstree, nr London) does seem sense for the two programmes to be set in different hospitals.

Also a chance to clear all the dead-wood and introduce a whole raft of new characters and a brand new set!

I don't think so. Holby's emergency dept. will get out of it somehow. They've got out of the hospital burning about 5 times, surely they can get out of a couple of trustees?

My thought is that in the christmas special the trust will realise how important Holby's Emergency Dept. is crucial.

Just a thought, is there a "Casualty @ Holby City" special this year?

don't the doctors and nurses think that there is something fishy in the fact that there is always a major incident autumn-time, and Christmas time, without fail ?!

Scott Mills is in the next episode. Quite an important episodes coming over the next few weeks. I think the E.D. will get through it and mabye St James' will close.

Yes, I do hope so too, but also, if it does not close, which will be great, it could just be a publicity stunt to get more viewers? Really hope Casualty does not end - there's a protest in this week's episode (Sat, 25th)

If they do axe it, though, I hope they don't release it, I hope that they close it, then the announcer goes "next week, 'Jonathan Creek'".
