Yeah the old closing titles - I always remember waiting for the ambulance to disappear out of view before I turned over.....
...yeah I was sad.
Oh yeah, and there was the green-grid.
I was about five, and always felt a lonliness after the big, mighty, heroic ambulance went round the corner into the town.
Sounds kind of silly, but those titles trigger so many memories of infant saturday nights.
I wish they showed those titles on the website. They only show opening ones.
If they show current characters, it does appear to date very quickly, which is something that happens to Hollyoaks. Here's an idea: have the titles as a mere format. So, when characters leave, or appear/return, they can just edit the bit with the missing character. A bit like layers on graphics software. Change one bit, without messing up all of it—though I don't know what technical restrictions would apply.
A year ago, I played the theme-tune to my entire year group in the HOuse Music Competition, I styled it on the original, not the current theme tune.
Bet that was a rip-roaring day for all involved.
I think we should have a vote on whether moderators should start being very severe towards people who post these pointless, snide, little comments. Not because I love or give a toss about or even particular know who 'Rob Del Monte' is. But because they are atmosphere-souring, and new users just coming onto the forum might assume that's the way we all behave.
I barely ever post on this forum but I read it, every day, and I have done for years. It's not declining terminally, but there's more pointless snideyness than there used to be. Just a thought.
There's always been pointless snideness here. Besides, you're missing the point of the snide remark - do we really care about Rob del Monte's school project based on the Casualty theme? Probably not.
I've just read Jane Dauncey's interview on the BBC Casualty site and it seems more definite that characters will feature in the titles... something along the lines of "the titles will feature some of the most loved faces from Casualty". I wonder if we'll get classic footage instead - sort of video of Megan tending to a patient, Dr Beth operating on someone etc. So that the characters aren't necessarily current, but just a reflection of what's gone on in Holby in the last twenty years? It would seem silly to use the current cast, when they ditched the last set of cast-based titles after only a year.
I too remember the ambulance disappearing. It used to overtake a car if I remember towards the end of the song, and the car's indicator light flashed in time to the music.

Sounds great, they're my kind of titles. If it could involve Charlie and Duffy under the misletoe too, that would be even better.
I started watching Casualty in 1995 and sort of gave up in 2000 - at series 14. I just found it got so predictable and boring and I also got fed up with people crying for ages in the relatives room. Thats the caring soul I am. If I tune in nowadays, it will only be for Charlie's embarrassing side glances to camera!

They changed the format, I noticed. Before there would be a couple of situations, with guest characters. They would just show them in their situation for about three scenes. It was like "Don't do that! Your on 'Casualty'—It
WILL
go wrong …! Err, NOOOO [horrible crunching sound!]! I told you!"
—Or was that just me?
I think there was also coverage of the staff's private lives, though I can't remember.
I've noticed that they have, in recent years, started to go back to that format.
I wonder if Holby City's titles will ever change. They haven't changed one bit since the first episode, they must be heading for one of the longest lived title sequences- nearly 8 years.
Back when it was a series and not a continuing drama, series 3 introduced the titles we have now, but it was different before, the people and the sink where the water runs wasnt there.
