The repeating story line was interesting too, but it was slightly over the top, especially when they slowed it down, stopped then rewound it, a simple pan to the next person and a flash would have worked much better.

I thought that was actually, quite clever of them, and something, as you Greg, said that we've not seen on Casualty previously. Am looking forward to the next few specials of the show, and of course the forthcoming year of Casualty as it reaches it's 21st year in production!

Well . . ..

(Just in case any of you have your videos at-the-ready)

Ellen dies! I wasn't expecting that!

Very good, I think. The story was very good, and all that because of her! It was like one of those nightmares where it keeps going wrong! You'd have thought it would have become official policy to keep vigilent on Christmas, looking at track record :p! Woody a year ago. How many years will it take, until they figure out that there is always a major incident September time, and Christmas :p?!

Actually, they did very well to keep the tension without a major incident. It relied on a good story.

I havn't read the spoilers for up to today, are they safe to read, or is the one lingering for the new year, which, by the way, I will definately (well, not definately, anything could happen!) be watching!

Yes, I must agree, it was another good episode, infact, they both were. (the two-part specials) Also... I was not expecting that (what Rob Del Monte covered up by the spoiler tag) - still, all in all, they did do very well to keep the action/tension up as without all the hype/build-up, the stories for the entire two episodes would have been over in a matter of minutes.

Casualty seriously needs to make a New Year's resolution to share studios with Holby City. Amazing as this weekend's episodes were, they exposed the flaws of having two shows - supposedly set in the same hospital - shot at seperate sites:

- An anonymous surgeon tends to Josh, and due to the split sites we couldn't follow what happened to Josh in theatre. Surely if a much-loved colleague like Josh needed this level of critical care he'd get the best, ie. Ric, Connie, and in any case would need the use of other "Holby" facilities?

- The chase to find Laura. They'd be combing the entire hospital looking for someone as dangerous as her, so it seems odd that Holby characters would again not be involved;

We know WHY Casualty and Holby have different homes - the Bristol site can't physically accommodate two shows. Unfortunately the programmes suffer from this dual-site arrangement so Holby and Casualty feel like two different hospitals, and character crossovers are impractical because of the distance between Elstree and Bristol.

Excellent episodes this weekend, but they should really have been done as Casualty @ Holby.

This weekend was the first time I'd watched Casualty for 10-15 years ..... what 2 fantastic episodes.

The multiple point of view thing really worked , I remember the same thing being done on an episode of Couplng and many years ago on an ad for the Guardian. A very clever narative structure as it keeps revealing more and more about the story

Also interesting to see that the loss of Josh's family - which happened during the time i watched it - is still part of the storyline

All good things to say here...! With regards, to the first comment, you tvarksouthwest made, above, a good one too, but if this were to happen, they would be better bringing the Bristol equiptment down to London (Elstree) as there's more space, and yes, it would make sense that both shows would be filmed in the same studio.

2nd Comment - Also, agree on this, they could have made a bit of an effort, to bring in a few regulars from Holby City to encorparate the two-specials, just shown on BBC1.

As if that many coincidences could happen, with regard to that receptionist and Harry's allegations.

Surely Tess would be able to sniff-out the debt?!

How did I guess that, Kelsey's/'Amber's' client would be someone she knew?!

That was a funny ending just now... either Kelsey... or shall I say 'Amber' would have walked out on the punter before anything would have happened... or as I thought it would have been someone she knows!!! LOL!!! I bet Nathan won't be returning there in a rush!!! (nor Kelsey for that matter...!!!!) Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Doubt they will axe it, Nathan would have not be allowed to say it was not a nurse and then kind of nod when Harry said who it was, plus I knew it would be him when Kelsay was in the place.

Kelsey: 'I hope they are the right kind'
