I hope the song is better than the present one. it says that the song is a re-working of the original, so i think it could be good. i liked 'Doctor Who', that has the 'real' instruments ontop of the radiophonics of Derbyshire's arrangement.
Hopefully this title sequence will last a while, the series 15 & 16 titles only lasted one series each. I think the biggest problem with the series 16 titles was that they had the cast in them, which means they'd have to keep updating it.
Still, this version of the theme tune didn't last long- 5 years, as opposed to the original that lasted 15.
A year ago, I played the theme-tune to my entire year group in the HOuse Music Competition, I styled it on the original, not the current theme tune.
Bet that was a rip-roaring day for all involved.
I think we should have a vote on whether moderators should start being very severe towards people who post these pointless, snide, little comments. Not because I love or give a toss about or even particular know who 'Rob Del Monte' is. But because they are atmosphere-souring, and new users just coming onto the forum might assume that's the way we all behave.
I barely ever post on this forum but I read it, every day, and I have done for years. It's not declining terminally, but there's more pointless snideyness than there used to be. Just a thought.
I'm a bit concerned that the interview with the EP says that the new titles show "our heroes at work" or words to that effect, suggesting they *may* feature the actors. I hope not, and that this is merely a nod to the "generic medical staff" who used to appear in the opening titles.
I really really hope they go back to using the proper arrangement of the closing theme tune, and not just the opening music as they have done in recent years. Having said that, I have liked the current set of titles which will have lasted four series - on a par with the longest running titles.
