Is it just me or are the scenes in tonight's episode a bit too graphic?
I know it's not real but I mean showing someone's intestines all hanging out is going a bit too far in my opinion.
I just wish they'd get rid of the annoying 'filmic' effect.
It doesn't feel like I'm watching Casualty any more.
Whereas otherwise the pace and script seems almost like Series 1 - and all the filmic effect does is hinder that.
Meanwhile A&E itself has been given a complete makeover - the restful blues of four weeks ago replaced by oppressive dark colours. And not even any builders or decorators still finishing the job - yes, that really would happen in the cash-strapped NHS!

There'll be complaints. Someone's intestines hanging out is not something I'd expect to see pre-watershed.
I must say though that the new
Casualty
is very slick, and is a very different beast to the previous series. It's more watchable (and much more like Series 1) than before.
The titles do have some of the new cast in actually!
They did! I was impressed - again I read they didn't on holby.tv
Anyway I personally thought it was absolutely brilliant.
Everything about it screamed high brow. It was very, very gory - the intestines, jesus I was shocked. Matthew Needham is an outstanding actor and gave a superb performance. The episode flew by.
It felt a totally different show but it was what it needed. Nice to see they updated the titles SLIGHTLY and put the old music back too.
I enjoyed it but it seems completely different to the Casualty that ended last month and its not just the new filming style, the pace of the programme seems a lot faster - the episode seemed to go quickly I agree.
I like the new Doctor so far though and the episode was a very good introduction to how a new doctor copes with the pressures of the job.
No mention of Selena's death or Stitch's absence - its as if they never existed.
Where had all the lights gone in the hospital? It seemed very dark and oppressive? Was their a power cut? And those intestines - ugh! I almost choked on my curry the minute I saw that! The filmic style is awful.
This show now belongs in a graveyard afternoon BBC2 slot IMHO.
