A few oddities this new series has thrown up:

- Why has a timid thing like Alice, who could barely cope on reception, suddenly become a healthcare assistant? Her reasons for doing so do not appear to have been mentioned, though they may well be revealed in time. It doesn't make sense that someone who finds people intimidating is putting herself in a more "up close and personal" position.

- The way Harry walked out of Parliament "just like that" and straight back into the department was somewhat implausible. And I suspect viewers and colleagues will start to dislike him now he's in a management role when hitherto he was one of the biggest thorns in management's side;

- As Casualty refocuses towards being about medical staff on the front line, why is Holby City going the opposite way? Since the latter went filmic we've had fantasy sequences, flashbacks towards the surgeons' youth and pantomime villains like Jac Naylor. It implies the hospital's A&E staff are consummate professionals, but their colleagues upstairs aren't!

- Adam Trueman - what a woodentop. Looks like he's been helping himself to Hollyoaks-issue Cuprinol...

Admittedly it's a little late but I thought the way the ending of last week's programme was spot on. Casualty ended, then the titles played, unsquashed and clean. It was much more refreshing to see the credits in their entireity than have the atmosphere broken after two seconds by it being shrunk down to a postage stamp and an announcer talking about some upcoming programmes. I wish this sort of thing happened more often.

Lucky for those living in the Scotland, NI and Wales regions, cos they always get it like that.

They did squash it the other week on Wales, but this appears to have been a one off, and they still keep it ECP for every other programme I've seen.

Good to see the intro to the credits back while charlie was looking at Lois Photo.

Which was of the previous Louis, actor Liam Hess!

Do producers think we are stupid and wouldn't noticed that Louis had been aged by a few years, when he can't have been born any earlier than 1995?

Still, a good episode thematic to National Anti-Bullying Week. Great to see Alice standing up to Dr Trueman, acting like the worst kind of playground bully by persisting in calling her "Squeak" well aware that she hates it... Wink

Definitely. I always felt that something was missing when it suddenly went straight to the credits. I much prefer the lighter interlude before the start of the credits. I hope it stays.

Just caught up with last weekends episode. According to Holbytv Louis was born in September 1996 but he looks way older than 11. Looks like they have aged him about 4-5 years.

I agree, I was glad to see Alice stand up to Dr Adam. I hate people like him who find it amusing to make other people feel small.
