The word "contrived" was specifically invented for this programme. The hundreds of plots running together were awful and took a hell of a lot of imagination. The usually high standard of both programmes seems to have been put aside for this special programme. The juxtaposition of Happy Christmas (War Is Over) with explosions and catastrophe did not work. It made me laugh.

This programme was unbelievably corny! The plot was ridiculous and seemed as though it had been written by a schoolchild. I don't often abandon programmes after I've started watching them, but I did this time, as I just couldn't sit through it! I felt very sorry for some of those talented actors and actresses (with emphasis on
some
) who must be sick and tired of acting out such ridiculous stories.
This time last year, I was saying how I thought that Holby City was streets ahead of the other "serial dramas" (read as "Soaps"), but in the space of a few months my opinion of the show has flipped completely as it has descended into deepest contrivedness.

I haven't watched either show in a while but I did tune in for the special.
I too thought it was of a reasonable standard, bar the electrics in this place which caused my digibox to crash when they got half-way over the maintainence gantry. Grrr ...
I couldn't believe some of the stuff in it though - a petrol and diesel tanker crashing into the side of the building and leaking its contents into the basement the the electrics sparking and then all the floors above blowing up.
Seems a bit surreal to me - how could petrol in the basement cause the upper floors to blow up?

Personally, I think casualty is much better than Holby City. Casualty is much more dramatic and focusses on the patients lives and their emotions. Holby City on the other hand is all about the staffs' lives - boring! Also on Holby City, there's always a birth every week. I tuck into my tea on a Tuesday night and sooner or later a woman is on the television screaming in labour. This gets annoying every week.
Good episode tonight! Rosie should have died though - I hate her!

It used to happen with the old board, it didn't happen originally with this board, but now it's happening. More than that, I can't really say. It's partly good because you can see where someone's tried to backtrack on something stupid they said previously, but it's also bad because I can't now do the same
Note that the message appears below any signatures you may have, which is rather daft if you ask me.
