Hi all!

Casualty is returning tonight after a 2 week gap. This is, of course, the end of series break. Tonight a new series of Casualty begins...

Are you a fan of Casualty?

You have to try a bit harder than that, if you want to start a discussion about something.

Havent watched Casualty for years.

Last time I remember watching it, Ewart Plimmer died! (Sometime in the 80's!)

The scheduling got silly later.

Whatever happened to the longer breaks between series?

Well, there has been more viewers and more demand for episodes. There is one every week (unless Eurovision, etc, is on) and the series break is currently 2 weeks. There amount of episodes in the series has yet again risen this series to 49. An old character, Connie Beauchamp (played by Amanda Mealing) from Holby City is returning, this time to Casualty. Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson) is the only original character left, and I'm sure he'll be retiring or something sometime soon. All of the other characters like Duffy are long gone. The original Casualty days have long gone but I am still a Casualty fan, 100%. Very Happy

In 1998/99, slight changes were made to the Casualty theme tune and in 2001, the Casualty theme tune was completely revamped. That theme tune is still used now. I like them both.

It doesn't air at Christmas anymore. It's dropped for 2 weeks.

Casualty has a 48 week run with a two week break in the summer and two weeks over Christmas.

Personally, I'd like to see the run cut in half to increase the quality of the storylines.

It was actually remixed as stated in the credits, and then they used a different version before reverting back to the remixed version.

Thank you.

I'm not trying to start an argument. There are some rules and general codes that we adhere to on here. You don't generally start a thread unless you're alerting us to a change in the programme or you've got a point you want to make about it. Otherwise we could have your thread, but about every other programme on the box.

Remix, revamp, it makes no difference. I was also stating that the current theme must be popular to be dropped and then reused. Yes, I totally forgot about the 2006 theme. Oops. Sorry about that. Smile
